The dog at 41 Queen Anne has bitten the granddaughter of one of our
residents. The home at 41 Queen Anne is not part of our HOA but I feel
because it is so close to the bus stop, everyone should be warned. This is a
pit bull, and animal control is involved. It is important to note that this
dog has been found to have NO SHOTS of any kind. The dog has also been
quarantined for 10 days. If you see the dog off it's property before October
23rd, please call the police or animal control immediately.

During the past couple weeks I have noticed the telltale signs that
pot hole patching is about to begin,(yellow then white markings on
asphalt along King Alfred Way and Queen Ann Drive).

My question/concern is,
have all the roads in the community been inspected? If so, have all
the roads been prioritized for repair based on current conditions and
safety?

Thanks.

Kevin:

Yes, all roads in the community have been inspected. Our immediate focus is
on the maintenance which must be done before winter. The paint markings
that you see are part of that process. Please note that the paint is for
pothole repairs. We are also working on some larger repairs which are not
marked in the same manner. Two examples are the stretch of Queen Mary at
the intersection with Old Cropp and a long section of Lady Jane.

The road committee will be putting together a long-range plan for the roads.
This process will take place over the winter. If you would like to
participate in this process, let me know. We would be glad to have your
input.

I don't have my notes here at work, so I am subject to my often
untrustworthy memory. We did look at Princess Gillian, and I believe that
we decided that it did not require immediate repairs before winter arrives.
It will be considered again when we put together our long-term plan this
winter. Did you have a specific concern about Princess Gillian?

I did know that Queen Mary and Lady Jane have had recent repairs. We are
making the repairs to these roads because we are concerned that the road
base is deteriorating in both cases. I intend to solicit advice from Kevin
Wirth as part of the planning process, and hope to get a great deal of input
from him. The current members of the Road committee are Rex Berfield, Lisa
Thomas, Kelly Brown, and myself. All of the members except me have
experience with Kings Grant road maintenance, so I am relying heavily on
their advice. I also welcome participation from you, and from any lot
owners who wish to be part of the process.

Thanks

Thanks for the prompt reply, Alan. I'm glad to know that the road
committee has looked at Princess Gillian. My specific concern is that
there are 3 senior citizen families on Princess Gillian. All 3 have
lived in Kings Grant for at least 13 years and have faithfully paid their
dues all these years. To my knowledge no work has ever been done on
Princess Gillian.

If the road committee does not think Princess Gillian warrants repairs
this year, that's OK. But I am requesting that the committee please
prioritize this road for clearing during snow and ice this winter.

With Rex, Lisa, and Kelly on the committee plus input from Kevin, the
Road Committee sounds like a good group.....but don't sell yourself
short, Alan. New ideas can provide balance for experience.

Thanks again, Cecelia

Our position on road clearing has been that all roads must be cleared. We
have not assigned any priorities. I will certainly mention Princess Gillian
when I speak to prospective contractors. If you find that the contractor we
choose does not adequately clear Princess Gillian, please let me know
immediately, and I will personally address the situation.
