The Kings Fiddlers, a non profit club, was born from a desire of a number of musicians to meet, socialize, and play music together for mutual enjoyment, and to preserve old time fiddling in the Annapolis Valley area. Through the efforts of Ken Wood, Ron Corkum, and Bill Morine, the club was established in 1987 and currently has over 50 members including piano, bass and guitar accompanists from a wide variety of backgrounds, as well as several non-playing members. Several of the musicians have produced tapes and cds.
The Club actively supports less advanced fiddlers as part of its aim to develop and preserve the old- time fiddling tradition.
Although not primarily a performance group the club frequently makes local appearances through the year.
Meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, except July and August, at the Lions Hall, Elm Ave., Wolfville , commencing with a business meeting at 7:15 p.m. New members as well as playing and listening guests are most welcome.
