Hello dear friends in Christ! my name is Rev. Cathryn Hughes. I am a missionary and an International Coordinator for 'King Jesus Way Of Truth & Life World Outreach Ministries'. This ministry is helping to assisst and care for orphans in Kenya by providing housing meals, and personal needs for each child. More than anything these children need a home, family and education. | History and facts about Kenya: Kenya is found in African continent found on the Eastern part of Africa. Kenya borders Uganda on the West, Tanzania on the South, Somalia on the East and Ethiopia on the Northern part. It also touches Indian Ocean at the bottom of its base. Kenya is one of the Countries that were colonized by Europeans (British) and it got independence in the year 1963. After getting its independence, it suffered a lot especially economically because we had few industries in the country compared to now days. Thank God, Kenya has some good world life scenery like Amboseli, Maasai Mara, and Turkana etc. that has led to its growth. Because it also borders Indian Ocean, the country has been receiving tourists time after time. Over 20,000 tourists visit our country yearly. Because of this, scenery our Government had really invested in this and currently Kenya is receiving many tourists time after time and this has really improved the economic of our country. The country is also served with Rivers like Lake Victoria, Turkana, Elmendaita etc. that has good waters that has a lot of animals like Flamingoes, Ostrich, Giraffe, Snakes etc. This also attracts many people in different types of the world. Due to the economic growth of the country, the government has worked very had to see that every demand is met. Something you must know regarding the poverty we are having in Kenya. Many children have become orphans because they have no parents. Many of their parents had died because of diseases like HIV/AIDS. So such children have found themselves in a problem of getting food, education and clothing. I know with prayers we shall be able to have a good future for these orphans. Here are some ways we are accomplishing this: 1. In the first step, we want to see that these children get education. We shall improve on the basic education that we are giving these children. When we get some funds, we shall improve again and make them get tertiary education and if possible in future we see that they are getting quality education and they are able to go up to University level. 2. Theological Colleges will also be very important. Although these Colleges will serve all people, but orphans interested in theological studies will be given first priority. Free theological education will be given to them so that they can study the Bible well. 3. Clothing - This is also an important step in the lives of these orphans. We shall make sure that all are clothed and nobody is walking without a dress. Many donated in the church and funds from donors will be used to assist these orphans. 4. Shelter - The Church at large with International support will make sure that these children get a place where they can stay and live some good live like any other person. This is especially with the street children. 5. Construct a special primary and secondary to address the needs of Orphans through integration. 6. Start a medical clinic for the community as well as the Orphans. 7. Construct a descent dinning Hall for the children. 8. Start vocational training on the compound for purpose of effectiveness in skills. 9. Rear dairy animals for milk production, both for consumption and sale.. |
