building a commanding lead with 9 holes to go in the final round at The
Pines, Disaster on the 17th and 18th saw Simon get to within a couple
of shots but Steve held on to win. In 1999 Mikes short game held together
to record a comfortable win and the Purple Jacket,
This year a
field of seven have entered the Challenge in what will be a classic encounter
over some great courses.
Round 1 - Royal
Pines West. An easy opener that should favour the low handicappers
Round 2 - Lakelands, classic Nicklaus design, was played in 1998 where
Steve set the pace on the back nine
Round 3 - Robina Woods, tight course was played in 1998 and all struggled
Round 4 - The Glades, a testing venue for the final round. And anything
is possible
