The Challenge Returns to the Gold Coast for 2001
September 15th - 18th

After a two year abscence, the Gold Coast have secured a King Challenge event for 2001. In 1998 Steve DaCosta lead for most of the tournament building a commanding lead with 9 holes to go in the final round at The Pines, Disaster on the 17th and 18th saw Simon get to within a couple of shots but Steve held on to win. In 1999 Mikes short game held together to record a comfortable win and the Purple Jacket,

This year a field of seven have entered the Challenge in what will be a classic encounter over some great courses.

Round 1 - Royal Pines West. An easy opener that should favour the low handicappers
Round 2 - Lakelands, classic Nicklaus design, was played in 1998 where Steve set the pace on the back nine
Round 3 - Robina Woods, tight course was played in 1998 and all struggled
Round 4 - The Glades, a testing venue for the final round. And anything is possible

Special thanks to Donna and Peter at Asian Connections for their help with booking our golf and accommodation on the Gold Coast

All the news, reviews and stats will be available following this event.
Keep up to date with the live leaderboard (Subject to technical design !)
