McBuff

Lead on, McBuff!

When Joey Leggett throws over Lady McBuff in favor of high-society belle Lurlene Jackson, Buffalo Gap will never be the same.  The town not only loses its chance at the Texas and Pacific railroad, but ultimately the county seat and its control over the financial and political fortunes of Taylor Country.  Although a comedy, the events are modeled on the real-life story of the way a group of 'businessmen' used the promise of a nonexistent town, Abilene, to first steal the railroad and later the seat of county government.  In a dramatic courtroom finale, Judge  F. Watt Murray votes to uhpold the outcome of a doubtful election, an event which has catastrophic consequences for the poultry population of West Texas.

McBuff  is a full-length three act play--a travesty in thee acts!
