Marc Hulet
Marc is a 25-year-old freelance cartoonist who lives in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. He is currently in his last year of a three-year journalism program.
His editorial cartoons have appeared in the Cambridge Reporter and in the Conestoga College newspaper - Spoke.
Marc is also a published freelance journalist and his most recent work appeared in the Stratford Beacon Herald.
He hopes to become a full-time cartoonist and his goal is to be picked up by a major cartoon syndicate.
As a child Marc was inspired by the works of Jim Davis (Garfield) and Lynn Johnston (For Better Or For Worse).
Marc's more recent cartoon inspirations include Scott Adams (Dilbet), Jim Meddick (Monty) and Gary Larson (The Far Side). He would also like to thank Randy Glasbergen (The Better Half) and Sandra Bell-Lundy (Between Friends) for their advice. Both their strips can be viewed at King Features Syndicate.
Other strips he highly recommends include:
Zits by Borgman and Scott
Herman by Jim Unger
Sherman's Lagoon by Jim Toomey
Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson (now retired)
Dan Noble
Dan was a rather retentive child who grew up to become a very anal-retentive 26-year-old adult.
In his spare time he works, cleans and likes to organize things. One of his favourite pastimes is cataloguing his book and album collections.
He was inspired earlier on in his life by strips such as Garfield and Herman. He was later warped by the Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes and Dilbert. He lists his goals as wanting: "Money for nothing and the chimps for free," and "complete world domination through brutal military suppression... or drawing comics. Which ever happens first."
His cartooning career started in Primary School while in Grade 2, with the introduction of the short-lived comic series, 'Super Stupid Chicken and his Adventures in Lava Land'. Unfortunately the premise didn't leave much room for story ideas after the first installment, nor was it particularly well received.
Since then, he's been doodling away like mad and currently collaborating with fellow cartoonist Marc Hulet on 'The Freak Show' and 'Wooley'.
Mike Percival
Mikey is the quiet member of the group but also the most dangerous. He can often be found lurking in the shadows. When Mike is not writing (and endlessly re-writing) his short stories, he can be found engrossed in anything computer or video game related. He also boasts a disturbingly large horror movie collection. His diet consists of anything pizza and he is now officially "whipped" after years (and years) of being single.
