THE LUDVIC & DOR (RUE) KOMERS FAMILY ALBUM
Dor (Rue) Komers Krueger c.1918
Ludvic Henry Komers, son of Joseph and Anna Komers, was born January 1, 1871 in Muscoda, Grant County, WI. Dor (Rue) Komers Krueger was the daughter of Charles "Wesley" & Grizella (McIllhattan) Rue, and was born on September 27, 1873 in Orion, Richland County, WI. "Lud" and Dor married on January 21, 1893 in Muscoda, Grant County, WI. They had 6 children: Joseph, Bradley, Sophia (Komers) Truax, Violantha (Komers) Miller, Lilas (Komers) Lencioni, and James "Everette." Dor, who was expecting daughter Lilas at the time, lived with her children and her widowed father, Wesley, in Sherman Twp., Clark County, WI in 1900. Ludvic was not named in the census, but it is told in family lore that he traveled a great deal as a barker with a circus, and may have just been away at that time. Ludvic died on January 1, 1918 of chronic nephritis (kidney failure) and a valvular heart lesion. At some time after Ludvic's death (approximately 1929), Dor remarried to a Mr. Julius Krueger and settled on a farm in Spokeville, Clark County. She committed suicide by gunshot in her home on January 16, 1931 at the age of 56.
