
On April 06, 1869, James Marvin Hill married Rebecca Hartley in Sylvan, Richland County, WI. They had nine children, including Daniel, Alice "Mid," Amos, Anna Olive "Annie," Lottie, James "Madison," Martin, Rebecca Jane "Janie," and Nellie M. He died in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI on April 18, 1928 and was buried at North Clayton Cemetery near Soldiers Grove, WI.
Rebecca Hartley, daughter of Ebenezer "Eben Sr." & Hannah (Gilbert) Hartley, was born December 06, 1852 in Athens County, OH. She had nine brothers and sisters, all of whom lived out their lives in Crawford County, WI. Rebecca died on July 16, 1906 in North Clayton, Crawford County, WI and is buried at North Clayton Cemetery in the older section of the cemetery, away from James, who rests in the newer north end.

REBECCA HARTLEY HILL
Rebecca Hartley Hill died at her home at North Clayton on Friday, July 16, 1909 after a lingering illness, aged 57 years.
Rebecca Hartley Hill was born in Athens County, Ohio, Dec. 6, 1852, and came to Wisconsin when thirteen years of age.
She was married to James Hill and nine children were born to them, of which eight are living, Dan, Madison, Amos, Martin, Alice, Lottie, Annie and Janie. (Nellie died a year ago last February). Besides the husband and children she is survived by two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held at the North Clayton church on Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. W.C. Snow, and the W.R.C. of which she was a member, and the remains were laid to rest in the North Clayton Cemetery.
For many years, with her husband and family, she has been a resident of this community where she has a large circle of friends and neighbors who sympathize with the family in their bereavement.
