Been a while since an update. Lots of stuff going on. Need to check the Guild Charter, it has been revised and posted. Grats to all who dinged, grats to Silvahna for getting her epic, grats to Frobus for getting the first epic piece, Swiftwind. Also grats to Lalam for hitting level 60.

7 February 2003

It's been a while since my last update. Lots of folks have leveled, finished quests, joined the family, and left the family. One of the big news items of course, is our guild leader, Omyah, has completed her epic quest. Congratulation! I have posted a picture of her with her new weapon in the Gallery. I have also posted a new Custom UI image, and I plan on using this one for a while to get a good feel for it. I provided the link to download it if you wish.

The second big piece of news is that we now have our own domain name, http://www.kindredsoulalliance.net/ !!! We're good for a year, and I will not be asking for donations to help cover the cost, I got a bargain at $10 a year. We also received enough donations to keep the Forums running for the next six months, and only need another $15 to finish off the year. Look for some changes to the Forums, mostly concerning access.

Concerning the Forums, many of the topics are going unused. By the end of the month, if nobody has posted to the so far unused topic areas, I will delete them. Also, I have set up a character bio page on this site, please, don't let myself and Cleoh be the only ones there. Send me a screenshot, preferably with the Luclin models, and a small character bio. I will post them here.

15 January 2003 Update

Well, if you haven't heard, the news at the Sony/EQ website is out. Legacy of Ykesha is going live as a PC-expansion. Check out all the details at http://www.legacyofykesha.com/ , including Frogloks as a new player race. To dispel any confusion, the clik.to URL is still active, however you will get pop-ups if you use it. If you don't wish to update your bookmarks/favorites, then that's your business. I will post a notice before I bring that URL down, after the new domain name is firmly in place.

14 January 2003 Update

Sorry for yet another URL change, but I abhor pop-up adds. With the clik.to/ksa addy, Bravenet placed a pop-up cookie, so they are gone. As soon as my regular paychecks start coming in, I will buy http://www.kindredsoulalliance.com/ or similar, so that we have a legitimate URL. In the meantime, http://home.twcny.rr.com/emporiumbizarre/index.htm is the correct URL.

As noted over a week ago, the Character Bio section is live, as well as the Custom UI Screenshot section. If you wish your main character to have a small bio and a picture or two, please submit them to me via e-mail. You can also add a short bio and picture or two of yourself, including your personal webpage URL and e-mail.

Since I can't keep up with all the accomplishments of our members, I have started a section in the Forum, Current Events, where you can post your character's milestones. Please, please, please, use it. With so many of us doing different things, we can't all applaud when you gain a level, or finish a quest. This will give us all the opportunity to do just that.

3 January 2003 Update

Well it's pretty much official, volunteer contributors are coming forward to keep the Forums running the way they currently are. Many many thanks to all that have or will contribute.

Today's update is pretty small, just some cosmetic changes mostly. Due to some bugs not allowing you to login to key sections of the site, I dropped the frames setup and went to a single-frame design. Now you can login to Guild Magic and the Forums without having to go to those sites outside the main guild site. I have also added a Character Bio section in the Gallery. Please send in a bio of your main character, and a couple of screenshots (see the Screenshot Submission Guidelines). You can also add some information on the real you, including pictures and/or your e-mail address.

2 January 2003 Update

Welcome to the new home of the KSA website. Why the move? Pop-ups stink, and repetitive error codes where there should not be are annoying. But the primary reason, is because of the ability to use FrontPage 2002 to build the site, and incorporate tons of features that will make this site really rock. One of the first new design changes I am implementing is the introduction of a new Gallery. This new design will allow much quicker uploading of screenshots, and minimize the time for the page to load on your computer.

One of the decisions we must make as a guild, is whether or not to continue to use the Forums we are using now. Of course, the deciding factor is money. To operate the Forums as-is, will cost $60, which is not a cost I cannot pick up alone. So I am asking for each member to click on the little treasure chest on the Forums page, and donate $1 each. Payment is processed thru PayPal, and is totally secure using their interface. The funds can be viewed at any time from the same location, and can ONLY be used to purchase subscription renewals.

We have a little less than 60 days remaining on our current subscription. I will start a thread in the General Discussion forum, regarding this. Please post a reply with your intent to support the status of the boards, or desire to revert back to the older format (nothing but pop-ups).

On a lighter note, I hope everybody had a nice holiday. Those of us that had plenty of time to play over the holiday had lots of fun, killed lots of mobs, heard that ding many times over, and made new friends as well. We also welcomed several new family members, so be sure to say hi to a new name on the roster.

The revised Guild Charter will be released shortly, and I can guarantee that it will not be a disappointment. We will also release a Raid Guideline document, that will shape the way we plan and organize events beyond a pick-up group. If you would like to suggest an event, post it under Event Announcements, and/or contact Cleoh so that planning can commence.

Yet another change, will be the introduction of a personal page for each of the main characters in the guild, if you so wish. These bio-pages will contain a few images of your character in action, and a brief bio, which can be updated as you see fit. If you use Magelo, I will also post a link so that others can see your phat lewts.

Quick update, Guild Magic is back online (for now). If you have recently joined the family, please click the Forums link to the left, and go to the New Members forum. Instructions to set up your Guild Magic account and other instructions are there. Also, Screenshot Submission instructions can be found there as well.

16 December 2002 Update

The rumble was a blast. For those of you that missed it, you missed a great time. I placed a special link on the Gallery page to screenshots of last nights PvP event. For those of you that attended, if you have screenshots you want posted, instructions are located on the Rumble gallery page. As of ten minutes ago, Guild Magic was still down. Apparently they have a fix being implemented, but no word as to when they will be up and running again. Guess now is a good time to start brushing up on my database design and management skills, so we can host our own as a backup. At any rate, for the new members, once they are up and running, you need to follow the instructions below, and set up an account and create your character profile. You won't show up on the guild roster until you do so.

Congratulations to the folks who leveled this weekend, either actual levels or AA. Also congratulations to Seirle, who completed the Tashania quest.

10 December 2002 Update

Well, a month has passed since the last major update to the site. All my stated goals have been completed. For example, the Links page is now updated, including links to sites that cater to hosting customized user interface files. Twissted and a couple of other folks have sent me zip files containing the mods they use, but for storage capacity and possible infringement issues, we can't post them. The links are there, so ask around as to what's being used, and those folks can point you in the direction to get the files.

KSA has been on a major recruiting drive lately, so welcome to all the new faces. Don't be afraid to make your presence known, get out thete and make friends, this is a very friendly guild.

Congratulations are also in order to Daredar, for reaching level 60. Grats Dare!! Who will be next? Also congratulations to many of our younger members that have reached pinnacles in their careers, such as level 20, 30, and 40. These levels many times mark turning points in their character's lives, with new skills, spells, and abilities. Also, several of our members have begun their epic quests, and others have progressed further along their quests.

A reminder again to our new family members, you need to visit Guild Magic and create an account, create your character profile, and link it to the guild, the instructions can be found below, or contact myself or one of the officers in-game, or send me a mail, and I can help you out.

Be advised that with our recent expansion and growth into higher levels, our guild charter is undergoing revision. No details have been released, but early indications point more to recruitment policies, governmental structure of the guild, and more efficient event planning for all level ranges. These changes are partially influenced by input from members during recent events and guild meetings. As soon as the final draft is released to me for posting, I will do so.

14 Nov 2002 Update

Been a few days since the last update ad a ton of things have happened. First and foremost, congratulations to Landyila for reaching level 60, and now being able to cast KEI! She's already making mad cash. Also, welcome to the family, for those of you that have joined us in the last couple of weeks. Please read the last update for instructions on how to set up your Guild Magic account so your characters can be listed on the guild roster. Once that's done, go to the Forums, and register an account there so that you can post messages.

Silvahna has started a mutating story in the General Discussion board. It's turning out nicely.

For those of you that have contacted me ingame or by email concerning your characters not showing up on the roster after you've registered, the advice I get from Guild Magic is to go back, edit your character, and reselect your guild, make sure it's Kindred Soul Alliance TDMA.

A reminder for all that are going to participate, there is a raid scheduled Saturday in Chardok for another of Mutter's epic pieces. Please refer to the Forum for details regarding this event, as well as all others.

Now that this website is starting to operate as intended, I'm going to start fleshing out some more of the areas. Fisrt, the Gallery will operate a bit differently. All of the current images there will be moved to an archive page. New images will be posted in their place. If you have a screenshot youwant posted on the website, email it to me in .jpg format. Also, give some background as to what is going on in the picture, or a caption if you have one in mind. The next big change I would like to implement to the Gallery, is to have a small page for each main to have a picture and short bio. I will also post images of any alts there for you, just send me the images in .jpg format, and I'll post them ASAP. I already have some pics of Landyila that need to be posted.

One last thing, the anniversary of the forming of the guild is Saturday. I've posted before about gathering for a new group picture that I can post. We have a ton of new faces, and some of the faces in the original group photo have moved on. I'll get with Omyah to set up the time and place, so we can all meet up with our main characters and take the shot.

03 Nov 2002 Update

Kudos again to Muttereagle, on getting her epic piece in Burning Woods on Saturday. Also, welcome to KSA to all the folks that joined our family during the past week. If you haven't already done so, go to Guild Magic and create your account. It's free and easy to do so. Once your account is set up, create your character. Lastly, chose Kindred Soul Alliance TDMA as your guild. This is very important, as I do not have access to the original KSA account. Once that is complete, you will be added to my screen as wishing acceptance into the guild roster. Next go to the Forums, and if you don't have an ezboard account, sign up for one. Post a thread in the General Discussions board, and say hi. Do not send me your Guild Magic account username, I don't need it, just the names of all your characters that are in the guild if you are an officer. Also, check the forums, Silvahna has started a thread for those of us working on our epics, so that she can help arrange times and groups to help us get some epics into the guild. Also, if you are ready to start your epic, post a reply there.

29 Oct 2002 Update

With the guild's anniversary approaching, I think it would be a great idea to update the image at the top of the screen, which was taken shortly after the guild was formed. Many of those folks have moved on, and a good number have since joined our ranks. Not to mention the upgraded graphics that were released with Luclin, many of us have a new look. I will set a tentative date of November 1,2002, at 10PM EST (7PM for you Left Coasters!) which is subject to change according to the Council's wishes. Location should be easily accessable to all, so I propose the tunnel in the East Commonlands, very close to both wizard and druid port locations. Let myself (Doranur, Hildor, or Ritche) know ingame, or one of the Couoncil members, if these are not workable for the majority. Obviously we all won't be available, but I would like to have as many of us there as possible.

One more thing about Guild Magic. It is working. Make sure you sign up for Kindred Soul Alliance TDMA. This is very important, as I do not have access to the other KSA account. Also, remember that you will not be able to access your account from the roster page, you must open a browser window and go to the main Guild Magic page. I still don't have a fix for this.

For anybody interested in becoming part of our family, please post a reply in the topic Applicants in the General Discussion board, including your character name, race, class, and level. If you have any qustions as per our membership requirements, please refer to the Guild Charter under the heading of Recruitment. One of our Council members will get hold of you ingame and speak with you ASAP.

Big update, but a lot to be said. Let's keep up that ringing sound, KSA. Lots of folks have had multiple dings during the last week. Let's keep it up. TDMA!!!!

25 October 2002 Update:

Guild Magic has had some problem recently, notably with their outgoing email client. Make sure when you sign up for Guild Magic you write down your username and password in a place where you will not lose it, as they have failed to send me my password (even though I have it, just testing their system). When accessing your Guild Magic account, make sure you go to the Guild Magic website in a new window, at least until they get their stuff squared away. I already added a couple of folks onto the roster,so don't wait, sign up and get added. The Forums are up and running, so feel free to go there and read the posts and make a few of your own. Your username and password for the old forum WILL work. If you don't have an account yet, sign up, it's not as painful as it used to be.

22 October 2002 Update:

The All-New Improved KSA Website is now LIVE!!!! Your username for the Forum will still work, you just have to register for the site if you don't already have a username and password. Also, I signed us up for Guild Magic to manage our guild roster. Add all your characters to it. Also, Council Members, please post a reply in the post titled Council Characters (on the General Discussion Board) with your Forum Username so I can assign Admin and Moderator status. Also, please list all your characters so I can ensure they get listed as officers on the Guild Magic site.

If there are any problems with the site, please use the link to the left and contact me so i can get it fixed ASAP. And above all else, KSA, TDMA!!!

13 August 2002 Update:

Fresh new look to the site, hope you like it. I have buttons to the left that will take you to a couple of new areas, Alliances and Gallery.

Alliances will list our current guild allies, as well as contact information for their key leaders to assist with planning cooperative events.

The Gallery will display all of the images that were on the previous front page of the website, so feel free to send in any cool screenshots you might want posted here.

Changes to the Roster will include a link to a page dedicated to each guild member's main character, as well as contact information if you desire. If you want a page for an alt, let me know and I will make that happen.
