| W-w-willow, c-come in. Hey Tara, you did say five was okay, right? Cos I can come back if its too early, I mean if you have things to do, like homework or eating or anything. I can leave and come back later. Its not a problem. Or, or I could stay and help, if youre doing anything that you need help with. Or Or I can stop babbling long enough for you to say something. To anybody else it was obvious that Willow was nervous, to Tara however, this fact was lost, she was too busy with her own nerves to be aware of anyone elses. The reason for Willows nerves was that she had decided, in the time since shed seen Tara in the library, to tell the blonde wiccan that she was attracted to her. Oh, yes, no, erm. I m-mean, I, I said that five would be fine, and I wasnt doing anything, so you dont have to l-leave. Why dont you c-c-come sit down. She motioned towards the bed and they both made their way toward it and sat down before their legs collapsed beneath them. An awkward silence fell on the dimly lit room, both girls looked at the floor not daring to make eye contact with the other. After a minute or so Willow could bear it no longer, so she took the risk of launching into another babble session. So? You said you had something you wanted to tell me? Cos Ive kinda been thinking about something, and, and I have something that Id kinda, want to, sorta tell you too, if you want me to go first? I mean, if you want to go first, then thats no problem, but if itll help, I could go first. Its up to you, your room, your invitation, you decide. Un, unless you dont want to decide? I mean, thats awful, putting it all on you, maybe I should just say it, the thing that I kinda wanna sorta tell you, shall I go first? This was the point when Willow ran out of breath and gained a lot more nerves and self-awareness. When she realised that it had gone quiet again, Tara looked up and noticed Willows expectant gaze. You, you h-h-have something to, t-to tell me? It was the only thing Tara knew to respond to, as she hadnt heard anything else of the redheads babble. Yeah. Does that mean I should go first? Tara heard that. She nodded her head enthusiastically, anything to put off what she was planning on doing was more than welcome. Okay, if youre sure? Willow didnt stop to make sure Tara was sure. Well, okay, see the thing is. Well, Im not sure where to start. You see theres a thing, but its a really difficult thing to say, and Im not sure how to, um, er, how to broach the, the subject. See I was thinking maybe, maybe lead into it with explanations and, um, stuff, but now Im thinking maybe I should just jump in, just, just tell you the thing then go from there? Oh goodness, Willow must be more nervous than I am. Has she been babbling that much the whole time? I really should pay attention to things like that; I know she only babbles if shes nervous or upset. Is she upset? She doesnt look upset, well, not really. No, Im sure its nerves, but why? Whats she got to be nervous about? Maybe I should go first, I hate seeing Willow so worked up. W-w-willow? Shall, shall I go first? Huh? Oh, if you want to, of course you can. Do you want to? Well n-not really, but youre obviously having s-some difficulty saying what, whatever it is you have to, to, erm, say. Its hard, you know? We could go together? Im n-not sure that would be, uh, s-such a, a good idea. Okay, so, how about we dont say anything, and I, I just, do this...? As she spoke, Willow leaned in towards the beautiful blonde sitting next to her |
