| Forms, called hyungs in Korean, or kata in Japanese, are preset patterns that are used as a learning tool for timing, control, technique, confidence and balance. The hyungs philosophy by martial arts organizations vary from art to art, but the thought behind the forms are the same throughout the traditional martial arts world. With that being said, here is the forms, their meaning and philosophy as we have learned them. |
