The killer whale has 40 to 52 inner locking enamal teeth, all of which it uses to hunt and eat their prey. The teeth curve inward and backward to help the whale to eat. An average tooth is 3 inches long and almost an inch in diameter. |
| The name killer whale came from the whale's fierce look, and mighty jaws. But when it comes to humans, the whales are in fact quite friendly. Old myths still exist about whales eating humans. Today however, most people know that the whales are friendly and often interact with them. |
