| A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT In Texas, we experience a sea of colors in the fields of wildflowers, which seem to go on for miles and miles! During this time in the Philippines, there is a host of native and cultural festivals, to include the beautiful nationwide event, Flores de Mayo~Santacruzan. So whether youre here in Texas or in the Philippines, its a great time of the year! Its a time for renewal, rejuvenation, and enrichment. I encourage all of us to enjoy the moments throughout this season by taking in the beauty of our places. Most of all enjoy them with your family, especially your children, friends, and of course with PASA. Happy Spring, Happy Easter, lets celebrate Yall! |
| IMPORTANT BY-LAWS CHANGES
As we featured in the last newsletter, by-laws articulate the purpose of an organization and spell out the procedures for its organized functionality. We also know that PASAs needs will change over time, and it is important that our bylaws are kept up to date to reflect the current state of affairs. On February 18, 2006, PASA members came to the first 2006 Society Meeting and voted on the sole bylaw amendment proposal presented at the meeting: : All membership fees, as stated in ARTICLE III MEMBERSHIP, SECTION B TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP AND DUES, to be increased by $5.00. The reasoning and justification for this proposal is to 1.) Help offset rising administrative costs within the organization and 2.) increase income to PASA. The vote was a unanimous yes from the membership, and the Executive Board moved to approve this amendment to the PASA bylaws with effective date of April 15, 2006**. So please take advantage of the current rates before April 15th! **The President has declared April 15, 2006 as the new effective date of the New Membership Dues Schedule. This is an official change from the February 18th Society Meeting announcement . Click Here for complete By-Laws |
