Killswitch football, at least the Texas Tech Branch, was founded by Justin Torres, Nathan Roden, Chris Ramsay, Evan Shimek, and Erick Avila in the spring of 2006. The original team name was Rule # 76, from the movie Wedding Crashers meaning "No excuses, Play like a champion." Even though the name has changed, the philosophy still has not. Rule # 76's name was changed during the summer of 2006 when Justin Torres formed an 8 on 8 team, that succeeded in placing 3rd in a regional tournament. The name has stuck ever since and now Killswitch has a Texas Tech 7 on 7 branch, and an 8 on 8 branch that has numerous players from around the state.
UPDATES
2/2/07 - Welcome to the new year. Lots of stuff to talk about. We have a new video up, with highlights from 8on8 tourneys in San Antonio and Snyder. They feature our crafty QB - Chandler, some snazzy D by Gilbert, a sick catch by Edgar, and some small highlights by myself WR - Nathan Roden. We also have 2 upcoming tournaments soon. There is a Monahans 8on8 Tourney March 31st through April 1st. Should be about $20 per person. Contact Justin Torres for more info. 12/16/06 - Long time since and update. We just finished 8on8 tourney in Snyder, Texas and we had some really highs and some somewhat lows. Overall it was a great performance for having several players never playing with each other. We have a video coming out soon. Stay tooned
