====================
Schurderich listened to Crawford ramble on with the least amount of interest. It was yet another mission for them. And as far as the mission is concerned, it seemed boring. Hell, everything was beginning to bore Schurderich.
Finally, Crawford gave out his last order and the team was on the move.
*****
"Everyone in?" Manx asked, as the tape goes into an end.
"Yes."
"Good. There are very high chances of you bumping into Schwarz. Whatever you choose to do with them is none of my concern. However, I hope it does not affect the mission in any way."
With that, the redhead climbed the stairs back up.
"She sounded…not-so-normal today," Yoji said.
"And how would you know?" Ken asked.
"I know everything and all things about women, Kenken."
"Oh, that's right." Ken rolled his eyes as Yoji began on another ramble about women. Omi stared at the older assassin with a small grin.
"He's hopeless," the youngest assassin shake his head. He turned when he heard the sound of a chair scraping against the floor to find the silent redhead getting up. "Aya-kun?"
"I'll be in my room until the mission."
"Hai."
~*~*~*~*~
White.
Darkness.
Weiß.
Schwarz.
/This is all too damn familiar/ Schurderich thought. /Too damn predictable. Can't some things change?/
"So we meet again," Schurderich spoke.
"Cut the crap," Yoji said, through gritted teeth. "Let's just get on with the fight, shall we?"
A thin piece of wire made itself known in the pale moonlight.
The target's getting away, Schurderich said to Crawford.
I know.
Well?
Well what?! Crawford's voice sounded irritated even inside Schurderich's head.
Do we stay and fight or should we just go kill the target now?
He received no answer.
+++
"Aya, the target's getting away," Ken whispered.
"I know," Aya replied in a low whisper. Then his voice volume went up. "We don't have time for this shit."
"We certainly don't," Crawford said, in agreement. "Our target might just escape from our grasp."
"Get the hell out of our way."
"What if we don't?"
There was no more need for words as metal clashed against metal, sounds of gun firings filled the air.
~*~*~*~*~
"Shit, I can't believe the target got away," Yoji cursed, as the group ran down the dark and empty halls. "Leave it up to Schwarz to be a pain in the rear."
"Stop your cursings, Yoji and run faster," Aya said, in a calm tone. But Yoji kept cursing anyway.
*****
"I wouldn't go any further if I were you," Crawford said, as the American held up a gun.
The target, Kojika Akui, looked around him frantically while clutching a black briefcase.
"Thinking of running away with the money, ne?" Schurderich grinned.
The man swallowed hard and suddenly, the door to the roof slammed open and another group of men entered.
"Weiß," Crawford hissed.
"Schwarz," Aya said, his grip on the katana tightened.
"Heh heh heh…" the target of both teams laughed nervously.
"Why the hell are you laughing for?" Yoji frowned. "What's so goddamn funny?"
Suddenly, a helicopter appeared above them and a rope was thrown down. The man climbed on it immediately.
"You will all die in this building," he laughed. His attention turned to Schwarz. "Didn't think I planned ahead, did you? I knew that Takatori would catch on with my actions somehow. Heh heh…the building has been rigged with explosives. With a touch to this…" he held up a small remote. "And it's bye bye to you all. HA HA HA!!"
"I don't like his laughter," Nagi said, calmly.
"I want to see his blood," Farfarello smirked, holding up a small dagger.
The helicopter was ascending slowly.
"Go meet your makers," the man gave another laugh as his fingers pushed the small red button. Soon, the entire building was in flames. The man began laughing louder. Until his flow of laughter was stopped by a small dart.
==========
/My head feels like shit/ Schurderich tried to stand up but pain shot through every part of his body.
"Fu~ck!" the redhead cursed, loudly. He gazed around the room. And finally, realized that this was not his room. /Where the fuck am I?!/ He repeated that question out loud.
The room was almost bare, with the exception of a desk by the window, 2 chairs, and a drawer between 2 beds. It wasn't long until he realized there was another person in the room with him. He stared at the second bed, close to his. At the figure wrapped up in the blankets, its chest falling and rising at a steady rhythm.
/Who the fuck is that and where the fuck is this?!!/ Schurderich was as confused as ever. The last thing he remembered was the explosion in that Sunrise Building. He remembered losing consciousness then.
"I see you're awake," a female voice said. Schurderich turned to find a short, black-haired girl standing at the doorway, holding a tray of food. "Hello."
"Where am I?"
"Don't worry. There was an explosion at the Sunrise Building. Papa found you by that building and decided to take you back here to treat you. He's a retired doctor. This is our house. My name's Kara."
"Schurderich."
"Nice to meet you, Schurderich-san. Here is some food in case you're hungry." Kara placed the tray onto the desk and turned and headed back out the door.
"Wait," Schurderich said. Kara turned back.
"Yes?"
"Who's that?" the Schwarz member pointed to the figure in the other bed.
"That was another person Papa found," Kara replied. She turned and left the room, closing the door behind her.
/Another one?/ Schurderich turned to the second bed. /Crawford? Nagi? Farfarello? Hell…don't tell me…Weiß?/
He sat there in silence before finally deciding to probe into the person's mind. His eyes closed, and his mind slowly probe into the other's. After a few moments of probing, he withdrew with a soft gasp.
/Damn/ Schurderich cursed to himself. He glanced around the room and stopped his gaze at the door. /I gotta get outta here soon. If he wakes up anytime so…/ His thoughts was interrupted by a soft moan that came from the still-sleeping figure. It turned on its sides, revealing a head of red hair to Schurderich. Slowly, its eyes opened, revealing a pair of amethyst eyes.
/Oh, crap…too late/ Schurderich cursed again.
"Schurderich…?" the figure said, confused.
"Yeah, the one and only."
"What the hell…OW!"
"Hey, you alright?"
The redhead looked up and fixed a glare at the other redhead.
"Where the hell am I? And what are YOU doing here?"
"Some girl's father found us lying unconscious near the Sunrise Building."
"Honestly?"
"Hey, do I ever lie?" He received a glare for an answer. Schurderich chuckled, softly.
"What happened with the others…?"
"Maybe you didn't hear me right. I said…some girl's father found us lying unconscious near the Sunrise Building. Unconscious. Does it seem like I'd know where the hell the others are??"
The other was silent. Schurderich watched him with a slight interest.
What the hell were you doing around me anyway, kitten? Schurderich then fixed him a small grin. Can't stay away? I didn't know you had it in you, Aya.
"Get the fuck out of my mind," the Weiß assassin growled, trying his best to close off his mind.
Don't try so hard, kitten. You can hurt yourself.
"Fuck you."
Promised?
"You make me sick."
"Ain't the first time." Schurderich gave Aya another grin before pointing to the desk. "There's food on the table. The girl brought it in earlier while you were still out."
Aya eyed the tray silently then slowly, slid himself back under the covers.
"Oy, haven't you slept enough?"
"Leave me alone. Bad enough I have to suffer with you in the same room."
"Tch." Schurderich stood and walked over to the desk, where he pulled one of the chair and sat down and help himself with the food. "Hmm…this is pretty good. Sure you don't want any, kitten?"
"No and would you fucking stop calling me 'kitten'?!"
"Sure thing, kitten." Schurderich smiled to himself, satisfied when he heard a snarl from beneath the covers. He quiet down and continued eating.
*****
"You two seem to be doing quite well," the man who had brought them here, Anesuto Ozuwaruto, said. "Injuries are healing." The 2 assassins have been brought to the Anesuto residence since about 3 days ago. No matter how much they insisted on leaving, the former doctor was very stubborn and would not let them leave.
"I'm fighting my way outta here," Schurderich said, sitting up in bed.
"You do that and I'll make sure you never leave here alive," the other assassin threatened.
"Protecting the family, aren't you? Well, you play the nice guy. It's time I play bad guy and get the fuck out of here." Schurderich stood up and immediately regret it. The pain from the injuries he received earlier shot through every nerve in his body, causing him to double over in pain.
"Stupid."
"Shut up. Don't you want to leave, too?"
"Do you even know where the hell we are?"
"No."
"Then do you have any idea how to get back to our homes?"
"There are such things as asking people for directions."
"Hn."
Schurderich threw a thought in Aya's direction.
Why the fuck did I listened to you?
Because you know I'm right and you're wrong, Aya thought back.
I don't think so. Schurderich pause before continuing. I can't believe I listened to you. YOU, of all the people. Why the HELL did I listened to you?!
I pointed a katana at your family jewels. Now, get the fuck out of my head!!
It was true what the redhead said. Schurderich couldn’t believe it when he realized the assassin still has his weapon with him. What's more amazing was the family didn't take it away or call the police on them.
Aya watched silently as Schurderich paced around the room. Finally, he stopped.
"I am DEFINITELY getting the heck outta here," he declared, cracking his knuckles. "They have been nice in the past 2 days but now…they're as good as dead."
Then, he realized that something was pressing against a certain area of his lower half. He looked down and let out a yelp, backing away from the blade as far as possible.
"You have that thing with you the entire time?!?!" he demanded.
Aya didn't answer. He just gave a small chuckle, placing the weapon back into its sheath.
"That was a nice threat. But I'm still getting out of here."
"Oh?" Aya's eyes bore into Schurderich's and then made its way down and back up and down again. After a long moment of hesitation, Schurderich sighed loudly and fell back down onto the bed.
"Alright, you win," Schurderich said. "Keep that weapon of yours away from me."
"Well, I think you 2 are able to leave now, if you wish," Anesuto Ozuwaruto continued.
"Yes, I believe we will leave now," Aya spoke.
So NOW you wanna leave?
Didn't I tell you to stay out of my head?
"But it is already nighttime," the wife, Anesuto Erenoa, said. "Why don't you boys wait until tomorrow?"
"Oh no, it's quite alright," Schuderich finally spoke up for the first time that evening. He stood and grabbed the other redhead's arm, pulling him up as well. "We'll take our leave now."
*****
"It's about time we get out of that place," Schurderich said, when the duo was out of the house.
The other redhead was silent.
"Oy, you talked a fair amount back there. You're not talking that much now. What, hate my company? Can't say I blame you, though, can I?"
He was still silent. Schurderich let out a sigh and walked side by side with his forced companion in total silence. Finally, after God knows how long of walking they did, they reached the city.
"Did those people live in the damn countryside?!" Schurderich exclaimed as he glances at a tall clocktower. "Damn…it's almost midnight."
"…"
"Well, it has been nice these past few days, kitten." Schurderich began walking ahead of Aya. "We'll meet again. Hopefully, next time, we won't end up in another house with each other again. Ja!" He was almost gone around the corner when Aya called out to him.
"What?" Schurderich looked at the other man, questioningly.
"I think I deserved some sort of thank you."
Schurderich blinked. "What for? Pointing that weapon of yours to my manhood? Making my life these past 3 days at the Anesuto residence a living hell? For…"
"…saving your ass back at the Sunrise Building," Aya finished the German's sentence.
"Saving my ass back at the Sunrise Building? I don't remember you saving my ass then."
"Maybe you lost a bit of memory while you were unconscious…and also maybe from hitting your head earlier. But, just a reminder, I fucking jumped down a 10 stories high building down to the ground while holding onto an idiot like you who now has no recollection of what happened then."
Schurderich blinked again. /This guy…a member of Weiß…an enemy to me…saved me?/
"Why…?"
Aya shrugged. He then turned and headed in the opposite direction. "Next time I see you, I'm gonna kill you. Forget saving you." With that, he disappeared into the night.
Schurderich remained standing where he was, confused.
/Waitaminute…why the hell would he…Fujimiya Aya, member of Weiß…save ME?/ Then a sudden realization hit him. /What if he…?/
"Next time, I see you, kitten, I'm getting some answers."
