Next I selected 'Curves' and chose my black reference.
This could be taken from any part of the image but I think it should be
from the unexposed film on the edge which I know must be black.
'Auto Equalize' tool was next applied , and this was the result.
Next a simple adjustment of colors , a quick sharpen and then its saved.
