250mm lens repair article
Due to our limited web space we were not able to show and describe
every stage off disassembly and reassembly of the lens.
From the 120+ images that we took of this work we have chosen a
selection that shows the majority of the information we wanted to share.
We hope that these pictures will satisfy the curiosity of the casual
reader and also the technical requirements of the ones needing to do
service work on their own 250mm Arsat lens.
After the lense mount and the closedown linkage is removed this is what
you see.
For a lens that had just come back from a professional repairer it has
an unacceptable amount of dust and rubbish inside.
Is that Yuri Gagarin I can see floating around in there ?
It is easy to see the dust particles on the inside of the lens in this
shot.
Also there is tons of grease on the focus thread , oozing everywhere ,
, a nice touch. !
