| Scottish born James Clerk Maxwell is considered one of the most influential mathematicians and physicists of the 19th century. Maxwell is regarded as the nineteenth century physicist that had the most influence on twentieth century physics. Maxwell�s work has been credited for changing the concepts of electromagnetism. James Clerk Maxwell is also known for his work on thermodynamics, kinetic theory of gases, and introducing the basis of the field theory.[1] |
