| Hello! You'll get to know me better as we spend time together over the coming months. But, I thought maybe you'd like to know some basics about me. I am married to Sean and we will celebrate our 11th Anniversary this coming October. We each had one child when we got married and have had three children together for a grand total of five kids running around the house. We've homeschooled, private schooled, and not schooled. For now, my children are happily attending public schools and, right now, it is perfect for our family. |

| I graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1990 and worked in corporate America until 2000 when it became clear that God's plan for our family did not include me going to work every day from 8 until 6! The degree in English has served me well and I still use the skills I learned way-back-then in the work I do in childbirth by editing books and writing short papers. I began seriously studying midwifery in 2002 after much prayer regarding what God's plan was for my career. As I learned the requirements for becoming a homebirth midwife and started the process of looking for a school to teach me, I took the DONA training and became a doula. Shortly thereafter, I met my midwifery preceptor and officially began working with homebirth families in February 2003. During 2003 I also completed the CAPPA childbirth educator certification. As soon as I begain working with homebirth families, it was clear that homebirth midwifery was my calling. |

| June of 2004 took my family to Sweden for the next year and a half. While there I nearly completed my school work with the Midwifery Institute of America and also had the privilege to travel to Senegal West Africa where I worked in a birth center in a remote town. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| We returned to the States in December of 2005. Immediately upon my return to the States, I continued my work with local homebirth families providing midwifery care and with hospital birth families as a doula. For the month of June of 2006, I journeyed to Ohio to learn from Freida Miller, a midwife who primarily serves the Amish and Mennonite communities. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I'm very excited and honored to be the primary care provider for women and their families as they journey through the childbearing year . I bring to the table the enthusiasm of a midwife who is still "fresh" and also am blessed to have the wisdom of very experienced midwives who work alongside me. Thanks to the range of births that I've attended (hospital and home in Colorado, home in Ohio, and birth center in Senegal) I have gained a great deal of experience in the past four years (see my Statistics Page). I look forward to the opportunity to pass along my skills and knowledge throughout your pregnancy and birth. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
