ARCHIVED NEWS!

Greetings from your neighborhood rock star,

Let's see... Looks like Santa came early for you kiddies because there are tons of new goodies for you fans out there.

I got the crazy idea to try and make a demo cd in a few days last week and to schedule it this weekend. Good news and bad news from this event. I recently got sick just in time for the recording to where I couldn't sing any normal pitch vocals. The plan was to sing two songs for the RYCA album, Tributal and Go Kid Go, and also "the Downfall of Me" from the EP.

The DOE was recorded the first day but the guitar sounded very poor and really takes away from the song, so I decided to pull the copy I released to the world. If you were able to hear it... good for you. It may be released again later on. I decided to go ahead and record the 5th track of the DOE EP, titled "the Final Blow."

"There have been some steps taken to increase the popularity of Kid Goldstein and the Nondenoms that are secret even to the closest friends. OOooh. Wonder what it is but who knows." Hmm no one even questioned my motives on this one... makes me wonder if I should release the secret now. What the hell... I've been up on purevolume for a few weeks now... AHH SHOCKER!! Go check "the Final Blow" at www.purevolume.com/kidgoldstein.

After you do that put your posts up in our brand new Message Board... well it's not new, it's been there for months but I haven't included it to the site until now. Depending on comments I may put the Downfall of Me track back on purevolume... so tell your friends and be sure to sign up for the newsletter.

There will be a bio put up in the next week or so, so keep in touch, and the links page will be functioning in about two days. The merchandise page will be updated to show new potential products but unfortunately no way to purchase these products just yet.

That's it...

"It's the Kid Goldstein Express... All Aboard!"

Greetings from your neighborhood rock star,

I'm not in the best of moods tonight, so I'll just try and update this without seeming too angry. I'm also tired and I will probably rework this later to make it sound more pleasant and cohereant.

Haven't recorded with J.D. lately due to massive school work but I have been seeing some shows and getting ideas for merchandise. There is one more item that may go into the merch bin in a month or two. I have to look into the praticality of it. Besides it's not like you could buy it anyways before my site goes ultra public.

There have been some steps taken to increase the popularity of Kid Goldstein and the Nondenoms that are secret even to the closest friends. OOooh. Wonder what it is but who knows. I believe I will be making this site a .com site at the start of the new year. Should be a nice way to start the year. I may have a big festival bash on the site, so get ready.

I've been creating some lyrics for several of my current songs. Go Kid Go, has a rockin intro and got some verse lyrics as well. Oh and big news. I've finally came up with a concept idea for the first song of the Downfall of Me. Three of the five songs are definites. I have only 4/5 concept ideas though.

In lighter news... Happy Anniversary to J.D. and his wife Allie. It's their first year and wish them happiness in all the years to come. It's also a Katei's 21st birthday. Happy Birthday Miss Katei, have a ball.

That's it...

Greetings from your neighborhood rock star,

Seems like a news update will be coming every two weeks about, so keep a look out. If you sign up for the newsletter you will be updated any time any major changes occur. Journal entries will not be noted by newsletters because they could come several times a day.

So what's been new... well the other day I checked out J.D's studio and it's definitely more impressive than mine. I recorded a tiny minute bit of "Go Kid Go" just to see how it sounded and it wasn't too bad. I just did a simple guitar and vocal at the same time. I'll have to record there again soon. J.D. is a great engineer in my mind, I think he has a great sense of what he's doing... at least more than me. By the way, Thanks again for the opportunity J.D.

I just got a new accordian today and surprisingly it's solid. It's a used Silvertone and I got it online for a few dollars. The sound is "whole" and just rings through the bellows. Can't wait to use it for my St. Patty's Day special vinyl. Which brings me to my next topic... records. I know it's premature but it's just things to expect. I plan on having several specialized albums, and if I'm quick enough I may even have a small Christmas album. Expect Noel or Silent Night on it. I freakin love Christmas!

In lighter news... I've started my new job and it's going great. It's a nice change of pace but I'm trying to still help out at my old job on the weekends. School is going very well as well... maybe I've found something I can stay focused with... who knows.

Well I guess that's it... feel good...

Greetings from your neighborhood rock star,

Two Weeks Without an Update... damn I'm getting slack. But good news fellow few. Intro music for the site is in progress with two different versions. One more rugged for the guys and one a little dainty-emo for the girls. Aww.. Well if you think I'm turning soft now, wait til you see what I have in store for the new cd.

The songs I've mad a huge dent in the zombie soundtrack song. There are no lyrics yet, but a chilling melody has been written while in persuit to find the right chords for another song I came up with yesterday. This other song for the time being is going to be called "the King of Rock and Roll." I have a feeling I'm going to get a large protest against me by the religious fans out there, but I don't care... *it's music.* The Grunt song is getting angrier and angrier as time progresses but I just haven't found the write melody for it, but have generated numerous of working ideas for it. Just time to put the pieces together.

Ha Ha... maybe I'm going mad or maybe I'm not but that reminds me. My EP "the Downfall of Me," has completely finished it's fourth act. I still have four others to go, but two of those acts are in the works and should be finished in the next couple weeks. I would like to use the fourth act for a movie based around the comic "Mad Love" (that I would love to produce). The more I play the song, the more it fits with J&H and that damn Bat.

If I haven't said it before "Tributal" is finished just needs to be recorded. "Go Kid Go" has the music to it, but not all the lyrics just yet. There is a song I'm working on that's going to be based on the theme of paranoia. Giving my lameness for titles, it will be most likely titled "Paranoid."

Good news for people who love Bad news... I've been thinking of creating a cover cd. The cd will be most likely 10 songs at a cost of 5 dollars a piece. That leaves me with 3 bucks to split with the band after expenses. I have a few songs in the running for the 10 spots I want to fill. I have a feeling Modern English's "Melt with You" will be on the record. A few obscure songs will be also located on the cd, so it will seem new to you.

*disclaimer - the cd may be more expensive due to the fact I would have to sell 400 just to break even. sorry

My photographer has recently found a great shooting site for a picture that I'm been dying to have taken of me. So expect some photos in the near future... I'm sorry to keep putting it off, but I'm just a very busy man. No multi-track recorder yet, but I'm getting an accordian in a few days. :) "Melt with you" accordian SOLO!!!

I hope I gave you guys enough to read... expect the journal to be updated tonight or tomorrow as well. And if you're angry you missed my update, sign up for the the newsletter and I will e-mail you when I do major updates to the news and to the site. Depending on the feedback I get on the newsletter I will try and make it more userfriendly.

Whoo... What a week or two. Still very busy due to school and work taking up most of my time but I am finding that both have their advantages. I've barely been able to get online for the past two weeks so I apologize for no updates or improvements. Thanks for your patience

I have found a decent message board that will be added to the site as soon as I create an image or two for a link. Since I have been very busy, my photographer has been unable to schedule any time for a shoot. Don't fret, the pictures will be taken and more of the site will be added on at that time, including a biography (for those who want to know me just a little too well) and a photo page of such and stuff.

Unfortunately my multi-track recorder fell through, but alas there is still luck. I was able to get a G3 for a few bucks and I'll be upgrading it and purchasing the new mBox 2. It'll cost me a little extra but it will be money well spent. I'm still planning on getting several mics. I'll just have to work another couple weeks to purchase it. Not like I'll quit my job (some of the people there are cool). The other day, a new guitar was given to me by a special friend, who believes in my music and wants to see me succeed.

Thank you.

By the way, I'm currently in the process of writing my cd, but I'm taking a pit stop to write a song for the soundtrack of a new cheesey zombie flick. Details later.

Greetings from your neighborhood rock star,

Thanks again for your support. It's been a busy week but still a very productive week. There hasn't been much to come about with the web site but I will adjust that later on this week.

I tried incorporating a message board to the web site but it hasn't been turning out so good. At the moment, I'm consulting with a photographer to produce some new extra visuals to help grab your few fan's interest. Merchandise... hmm... maybe if I get a cd recorded.

But wait...

Bout to get a multi-track recorder as said in an earlier post. It should be awesome. I'm planning on blowing 450 dollars on a Roland VS-1680 with extras. It's not the most impressive recorder but it will enable a start. With my extra overtime income, mics and other extras (cymbals, guitars, amps, etc...) will be bought also.

Ideas on the Nondenoms have been posted in the journal section.

Greetings from your neighborhood rock star,

Thank you for all the support so far. It's been a fun first week getting this off the ground. There are still many more improvements that I am currently addressing to the site to ensure it's stability and enjoyment with the "common folk."

Good news, school starts tomorrow and so begins my first day in sleeping in and gaining more knowledge of recording. I am planning on clearing out my garage to make some studio space and also blow some "mega"-money (thanks to some hefty overtime hours) into purchasing some recording equipment.

I'll have my song "Tributal" finished in about 2 weeks, maybe a little longer, but first cuts will be placed on the website. Hopefully, David will be willing to help produce the song in attempts to make it sound decent for a one man project.

In lighter news, I will be attempting to get a job, doing graphic arts, but I believe my school hours will conflict with my chances of obtaining the postition. Either way it's worth a shot.

(Hopeful) New Additions to the website in weeks to come:

  • Actual Music
  • Pictures and Biography
  • Updated Merch
  • Discussion Posts (perhaps)
  • And other random crap goodies

Greetings from your neighborhood rock star,

It's been a trial to finally get this website up and running but it's finally here. I have to say that I am impressed with how it turned out. This is my first time messing with tables so please pity my skills :)

This is the official release of the KiD Goldstein Explosion! Make way.
You will hear of me in the future, I promise.
(*disclaimer: statement "hearing" can be any form and may be subject to me screaming my name in your ear.)
I am still trying to find my groove with music so I can't officially state a genre of music but soon I will have some music uploaded that I have created.

There are two album's that I am currently working on. One is a solo -project EP with the momentary title of ""The Downfall of Me." It's a soft rock opera with 5 songs all tying together with similar stylings. There will be an mp3 of one of the songs uploaded onto the website at a later date. (I may use purevolume to host the music, but I will discuss that later.)

The other album is a work in progress, mostly by me, but I hope to have a full band for it in the future. The band's name is the Nondenoms. I have about 5 or 6 songs almost finished just need some last touches added to it. Most of the songs have a Ska/Swing/Punk feel to them but it's not the style I want my music to be defined as. There are other styles of songs I have and that's why I believe the band name "the Nondenoms" is perfect.

Anyways... That's about it for now... check the journal page and this page every now and again for new updates. I will try to update every other day at least.

Thanks for your support.
