I am 28 years old and work as a School Psychologist in Lancaster, NY. Besides chess, I love martial arts, music, and sports.
I have been playing competitive chess for about four years now, joining the United States Chess Federation (USCF) in June of 1999. I learned the moves and basic stuff when I was younger, but my passion for chess emerged last year. Currently, I am rated 1775 by the USCF. I play many places, including the Parma Chess Club and the East Side Action Tournaments in Cleveland, Ohio (when visitng my family) and the Rochester Chess Club in Rochester, NY. They are great places to play if you're ever in the areas.
I also play on the Internet Chess Club (ICC). My handle is bscastro. Currectly, I'm rated about 1500 in Blitz and 1850 in Standard. I like playing longer games especially (at least G/30), since I think you learn the most. If you would like to play a longer game and analyzing afterwards, let me know because I think this is one of the best ways to learn.
