Power Pro Wresting TV Review - 01/13/01 morning

AAfter a break, Grandmaster Sexay Brian Christopher came out for an interview.  Brian put on the Too Cool shades, hat and chain on Corey Maclin in a hilarious moment.  Scotty 2 Hotty then joined them via satellite.  Scotty asked Brian if he had ever seen two more spoiled, silver spook geeks than the Mean Street Posse.  Brian laughed and said Dave and Corey (Dina's note: Dave and Corey are Power Pro Wrestling interviewers) and did his trademark laugh.  Scotty then finished up, promising to show Corinth the W-O-R-M and then celebrate on Beale Street.  The Posse then came out and confronted Brian.  Brian issued a challenge for either Posse member to step into the ring with him.  Dave said this wasn't a good idea and that they should wait until that night when Scotty would be there to make the sides even as the scheduled opponents for the Posse came out.

During the Mean Street Posse match against the Haas Brothers, the Posse taunted Brian, who stayed to do commentary.  In the end, Brian hit Pete Gas and gave Rodney a superkick, allowing the Haas Brothers to get the win.  Brian celebrated with the fans until The Posse attached him and laid him out.

Corinth Chaos - 01/13/01 evening
Loudest pop of the night was definitely for Too Cool.  The people went crazy for them!  At one point, Brian Christopher pulled Scotty's pants down, and the Posse laughed, so then Scotty pulled Rodney's pants down for laughs!  Scotty hit the W-O-R-M to a huge pop.  The finish came when Pete Gas accidentally hit Rodney with a chair, allowing Brian Christopher to get the pin.  After the match, Too Cool got a young fan to come into the ring and dance with them to another great pop.

The recent rumors about the WWF splitting up tag teams is highly exaggerated.  Currently there are no plans to split up either Edge & Christian or Too Cool, but there has been talks of having the Hardy Boyz go singles.  In face, on Byte This! today, Edge and Christian shot down the rumor of their breakup saying that things are going too tell right now and where Too Cool is concerned, the WWF is not interested in singles careers for either wrestler at the moment.

First of all ~
Happy 29th Birthday Brian!!!  Now to the news...

reported by Mitch Newton, wrestlingdotcom.com
The WWF continue to move Too Cool and K-Kwik closer together.  Due to the Road Dogg acquiring an "indefinite" suspension, the WWF are inevitably at a loss as what to do with the K-Kwik character as all prior plans have now been disrupted due to the Road Dogg missing time through disciplinary action and as a direct result such plans can no longer commence in occurring.  As we saw last night on Raw, K-Kwik and Too Cool were on the same lumberjack team, and aside from that the three have tagged up at recent house shows and last week's Sunday Night Heat.  Expect K-Kwik to move closer to Too Cool in the coming weeks before becoming an honorary member of the outfit, after all, K-Kwik will need no repackaging or a gimmick change as his current persona strongly has the customary dancing element that Too Cool bear so he will be a straight forward addition to the team in his current persona once the angle develops further.

Dina's Note: Compare today's news and yesterday's news and it's proof that you never know what to expect...or believe LOL!

FYI - for those of you awaiting the release of the new WWF The Music 5 CD, the release date has been pushed out to 02/20/01.  Update 01/16/01: Too Cool's song is track #13.
*01/09/01* reported by Nick Moore, rajahwwf.com
The WWF is creating plans to split up several tag-teams within the WWF such as Too Cool, Edge and Christian, and The Hardy Boyz.  The main reason being is that the superstars can get a shot to develop their singles career.  However, it is not expected that they will break up all at once.

Before many can even remember, many "sources" started speculating that Too Cool would break up and screw over Rikishi.  In fact, it seemed that it turned out the opposite and had Rikishi turn heel while Too Cool were left in the dust.  After Rikishi turned heel, rumors ended but soon picked back up, and then diminished once more.  Now, it has nearly been confirmed that there will be no type of break up between Scotty "Too Hotty" and Grandmasta Sexay even though their time on programming hasn't been too well.  The WWF agrees with many of their fans that Too Cool has a lot of potential and even with their size, they are still able to compete with bigger tag teams in the WWF like The Acolytes or T&A.  If you have heard different, do not expect a break up between the group to happen any time soon.

Dina's note: Everyone feel better?  I know I do!!

The WWF are still going to push Rikishi to main event status despite a few rumors stating he was going to be taken out of the WWF main event picture

reported by Brandon Newman, wrestleboard.com
It is being rumored now that The Undertaker and Rikishi will most likely face off at The Royal Rumble in some sort of a gimmick match.  Rikishi will be loooking for revenge after what The Undertaker did to him at Armageddon.

GrandMaster Sexay Brian Christopher was originally scheduled to participate in a Jakked match on Monday evening.  However, there was a family emergency that came up and GrandMaster had to fly out back home to attend to it.  His spot in the Jakked match was taken by his tag team partner, Scotty Too Hotty.
(Dina's Note: the best to Brian that all is well!)

Update *12/22/00*
According to the Ross Report, Brian had to fly home because his father-in-law was involved in a serious car accident last Monday.
*12/15/00* reported by Samir Nurmohamed, top-rope.com
Rikishi Phatu is not out of action due to what occurred at Hell in a Cell, but he is resting his sore knees.  This could keep the big man out for a couple of weeks or so.  When Rikishi returns, it is likely he will engage in battle with the Undertaker, the man who threw him off the Hell in a Cell at WWF Armageddon last Sunday.
*12/12/00* reported by Farouk Chakawa, wrestleboard.com
The bump Rikishi took from the top of the cage at Armageddon was something that Rikishi wanted to do.  The WWF many times gives wrestlers an opportunity to move from the mid-card to the main event.  The wrestlers know that if given the opportunity, they mush show they deserve to be in the main event.  Others however have failed in the past (Val Venis and Billy Gunn).  Rikishi not only wanted to do something memorable, but he also needed to impress the brass of the WWF, and show them he deserves to be main eventing.
*12/07/00* from rajahwwf.com
The reason Too Cool's music was changed was because the WWF did not own the previous theme and was unable to come to a deal to put that theme on the upcoming Volume 5 CD.  The federation did not expect Too Cool to get over like they did in relation to their dancing and thus did not expect it to be that big of a deal when the eventual change happened.

*12/04/00* reported by Aaron Dias, wrestlingdotcom.com
The latest edition of the WWF magazine has hit mailboxes today, and will follow up hitting newsstands, if it already has not, within the next couple of days.  Within the magazine is an article named "The Elite Eight."  It essentially discusses the top eight WWF Superstars who will be making a bid for the WWF Championwhip within the year 2001.  The obvious names include Triple H, Kurt Angle, The Rock, Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and Chris Benoit.  The not so obvious, based on performances on the mid-card as of late include Chris Jericho and Kane to complete this list.  Rikishi is not, however, on this list, leading to the assumption that after Armageddon is said and done, he will be out of the WWF Title hunt.

Did you all notice how IICool had broken up a backstage brawl that the Undertaker and Kane had lst week on Raw?  Apparently, the WWF is planning on having wrestlers break up backstage brawls to make the brawls appear more "real."
