Hello, True Believers!!! I'm always looking for new stuff, so if I don't have something, I'll probably want it. However, if I can't trust you to trade/buy in good faith, don't bother me. I do have matchlists up for some of the tapes....individual shows that are highlighted are just some reviews that I or Brandon have done, and at the bottom of the page you'll find matchlists for all shows (at least when I get them done). If you're interested in making a deal, just drop me a line at [email protected] and we'll work something out. Please take a look at my TAPE TRADING RULES!!!!! before emailing me about trading or buying. Also, if you're wanting to trade, please try to include a tapelist or site address so I can look it over, it makes things easier. Tape Ratings-- If a show/tape has no rating beside it, it is EX and 1st Gen. Masters are noted as such. Anything that is 2nd Gen or lower on this site has some kind of rating beside it, even if it's practically perfect. You can click on the appropriate link to find what you're looking for.
Tape Video Quality (VQ) Rating Scale
Combined Ratings-- It's not uncommon to see a combined rating. This simply means a) it's a matter of personal opinion on which ratings you could give it, or b) the VQ varies throughout the tape. On ANY combined rating, the FIRST rating is what I think MOST of the footage is. Master-- an original copy of a commercial tape, or anything directly copied from TV. Unless it's over 10 years old, the VQ is perfect 99.9% of the time. Excellent-- a perfect or near perfect copy of a show. No tracking lines or drop in picture quality whatsoever. An EX copy is USUALLY a 1st or 2nd Gen copy of the show....with proper care though, I've seen 3rd or 4th Gens that would rate this high. Not many, but I've seen them. Very Good-- Pretty much just what it says. Not really a big difference from EX, but the picture might just be LITTLE less sharp, or there might be a little skip here and there. Still, any mistakes will occur only infrequently. For example, before I got a better copy, my old copy of WM 8 had a slight skip every ten minutes. Typically, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Gens will fall into this range. Good-- Still very much worth watching, and still very enjoyable, but it will just be more obvious that the tape has been through multiple Generations. Age can also be a problem, but not often....if kept well, even 30 year old footage can be VG-EX. 4th, 5th, and 6th Gens (even more sometimes) fall into this range, depending on the original source footage. Poor/Fair-- Rare will be the occasion when a tape on this site falls down into the Poor/Fair range. And even if you do see one, it could probably only survive one more copy. So if you ever plan on making a copy of the tape yourself, it will be unwatchable. Unless you REALLY want it, I'll advise you repeatedly to pick something else, so you don't have to struggle through it. But some people want stuff and won't listen to anybody if they really want it, and if one my tapes is fair, and you accept the risk, I'll send it out.
