| Great weather, smooth sailing, the winnebago ran like a charm. We made all the traditional stops: Olives in Corning, Wild Turkey in Yreka (or was it Weed?), La Fortuna Cantina in William for traditional Tortas and Mexican porn | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I came down with a case of tourista (Monctezuma's Revenge). That's how traditional the food is at La Fortuna. ("I have a really strong stomach." quoth Scooter - Hey! I wasn't in Mexico yet... and I was just practicing...). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Laughlin (a smaller gambling center just south of Vegas we always stop in for a night to clean up and get rested, practice gambling without crowds & distractions of Vegas). Everybody was hungry so we figured out who would eat where and planned to meet up later. It turned out that Kick (our illustrious leader and tour guide) had a RFB (room/food/beverage) unlimited comp for 4 and it seemed that there was a Lobster dinner going on a Tarzan's in the Golden Nugget (where we were staying). Somehow I managed to trick myself into one of the 4 spaces (one of the benefits of travelling with a bunch of vegitarians) One of the best meals in my life: fresh oysters, Alaskan king crab claws (2 orders), boiled new potatoes, lobster guacamole, lobster sauted in tequila, a 2 1/2 lb lobster each and as many fancy flaming drinks with umbrellas as we could drink (or wild turkey's if you're me - which I am) special coffee's & gawdawful rich creamy deserts at the end. a $400 bill all for free thanks to the state of Nevada gambling commission. |

| One of our group, Talisha, is a dancer and saw there was a topless dance contest going on at one of the casino bars and her boyfriend Memphis wanted to check out Mr.. Laughlin's Car collection - both at the Riverside Casino. We went to the club, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There was Talisha, a weird kind of dwarf-woman, a slag, a college girl who never actually took off any of her clothes and a prostitute (ringer). The prostitute won but Talisha made $40 in tips (and the other girls in the group wanted to dance too but forgot to bring underwear (Whoops!). A couple of us did the old free drink slots trick. You sit at a slot machine and put a $5 bill in, when you see a waitress is near you hit the "Cash-out" button and ching-ching-ching you then stand up and yell "Yeah, I won! - hey waitress can I have a beer?". Then take your change over to the cashier and turn it back into a $5 bill. Works every time. Another traditional stop - Hoover Dam. How cool is Hoover Dam? One of the few man made constructs that can be seen from space. Massive, cleanline, geometric made over 30 years with art deco bronze and brass detailing set in the middle of a red rocky canyon with no vegetation. I've seen it 3 or 4 times in the last 2 years and it is still awesome. |

| One necessary pit stop - Railway Landing. Why anyone would build a casino 1/2 an hour outside of Vegas is anyones guess but there it is. To get people to stop there they give out coupon books at the front desk, in this book is a coupon for a free drink, a free slot pull (which half the time ends up in another free drink) So we - leave the winnebago running and parked illegally, run in grab the coupon books, do the free slot pull, go to the bathroom, grab our free drink (or drinks, depending on the slot pull) jump back in the winnebago and off to Vegas. Thank you Railway Landing. In Vegas, Myself and the boys are at Treasure Island on the 32nd floor overlooking the Pirateship Battle and the strip. The battle takes place at the entrance to the casino on a lagoon about a block long (normal block not Vegas block). a full size pirate ship which every 1 1/2 hrs. from 4 until 10:30 fills with French and Spanish pirates. As the pirates busy themselves doing pirate type things (climbing into the crowsnest, loading huge chests of treasure, swinging from yardarm to yardarm, you know... pirate things) |
