Thai - Lao - Cambodian Fonts

(And a few others)
These are freeware fonts for Windows and Macintosh.

Click on the sample to download the Windows font and on the Mac icon to download the Mac font. All Windows fonts are in zip format. Mac fonts are in hqx format.

Thai for Windows

Two Thai fonts in True Type (TTF) format. Set as your fixed-width font in Netscape to use in reading Thai web pages. Or, for easier switching between Thai and your usual fonts, do the following (in Netscape):

  1. Under Options choose General Preferences | Fonts.
  2. Choose User Define as the Encoding option.
  3. Select DB Thai Text as your propostionally-spaced font and DB Thai Text Fixed as your fixed-width font.
  4. Under Options choose Document Encoding and select the encoding you wish to use. (Western for most European languages, User Define for Thai.) You can switch between Thai and your usual font simply by choosing the document encoding. You do not have to reinstall any fonts.

Thai for Mac

Lao

Six Lao fonts in both Postscript and TTF format. These cannot be used in a web browser. (Lao characters replace lower 127 ASCII characters.)

Khmer

Four Khmer fonts in TTF format. Can be used in web browsers.
Sorry, no Mac font available.

Karen

One Karen font. Cannot be used in web browsers.

Burmese

One Burmese font. Cannot be used in web browsers.
