| Kampuchea krom means "Cambodia Below" or "Southern Cambodia". Kampuchea Krom was a part of The Khmer Empire, it known as Indochina or Cochin China, On June 6, 1949 Kampuchea krom got transfered to Vietnam Bao Dai by the French goverment, The area of land is 67,700 Km squares. Prei Nokor (Saigon) was one of the most important commercial city in Kampuchea Krom. Later the Vietnam's goverment Changed the name to Saigon, then in 1975 they changed again to Ho Chi Minh city. Kampuchea Krom consist of four provinces which are DO NAI, LONG HO, MOT CHROUK and PEAM, later on divided into 21 provinces See the map |
