ARTHUR BIRDELL �BIRD� HELMICK, born July 8, 1872 and died June 24, 1958. He is buried at the Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Carress, Braxton County, West Virginia. He married to LEVICA ANN JORDAN HELMICK. She was born January 25, 1875. They were married March 24, 1894 in Webster County by the Reverend Elias Hoke. The first few years of their married life was spent on Potts Run near Poling. Later they lived for a brief period at Jerry�s Run between Cleveland and Hacker Valley. In 1903 they moved to Carress in Braxton County where they spent the remainder of their lives. Bird was a farmer all his life. Levica passed away May 22, 1914 at the age of 39. She is buried at the Mt. Hebron Cemetery near Carress. Levica is the daughter of Marshall Andrew and Mary Elizabeth Tharp Jordan. Marshall was born August 26, 1839 in Pendleton County, Virginia. Mary�s birthday is the same as Marshall�s. They were married April 19, 1860. Mary is the daughter of Amos and Martha J. Tharp. [See the Jordan Family History by Stanley J. Anderson for more information on the Amos Jordan�s Civil War service].
