ISLANDS OF CIELET

The Islands of Cielet is the name given to the two islands in the far north east of most maps. They are inhabited by two closely related off-shoots of the Elven line - Sun and Moon Elves, sometimes called Gold and Silver Elves due to their skin and hair colouration, but usually referred to as the Sky Elves. These two branches left the mainland over religious differences and settled on the larger island, until another religious war forced the Silver Elves onto the smaller.

Religion is a major part of life here - the Gold worship the Sun, and thus have many ornate ceremonies marking the Sun's power. The Moon Elves worship the Moon, as one would expect by the name. They are strictly a nocturnal people, leading to very pale skin and silver hair. They believe that the Moon is more powerful than the Sun, leading to bitter wars with their neighbours.

Society is typically Elven on both islands - although religion rules both, as the High Priest or Priestess decides everything important, which is probably why there are so many wars...

These two islands are isolationist by nature, although they know each other intimately. They tend to not visit the mainland any more, which has prompted some to say that they no longer exist, but this scholar may smugly assert that they do, and has proof of their existence too.
