AERILSPIRE
Aerilspire is the home of the Avariel, the Winged Elves. Situated at the top of a high mountain peak, this breezy community consists mainly of a series of caves which house the Avariel. The Avariel spend most of their time in the open air, only sleeping within the caves as they have a distinct dislike of being closed in, but no real alternative.
The Avariel built Aerilspire after they had despatched scouts far and wide to find them a safe and remote home with good access to the sky. The high peak in the mountains proved the best choice in a bad situation, for it is near insurmountable, and thus the Avariel can enjoy the freedom and independent living that they crave.
Aerilspire is not a large community, for there are not many Winged Elves. It is divided into four sections, the North, South, East and West Wings, each being ruled by a Wing Leader. These four Leaders serve as state leaders only answerable to the Air Marshall, the overall leader of the Avariel. All of these are elected by a council of adult Avariel, which itself is elected by lot at the start of each year.
Religion in Aerilspire is centred around the worship of Zacharia, the goddess of the Sky. All the Avariel take their religious obligations very seriously.
