- to practise using the affirmative form of the Simple Past Tense
- To practise using the negative form of the Simple Past Tense
- To practise using the question form of the Simple Past Tense
- To figure out the use of the Simple Past Tense
- To learn the regular and irregular verbs
- To do exercises
2-the objectives of performance:
- students work in groups discussing what they can remember about the Simple Past Tense
- students use the resources to find out information about the form (affirmative - negative - question ) and the use of the Simple Past Tense and the regular and irregular verbs
- students then do the exercises
- students check answers by reading them aloud
3-the objectives of the technology
- students have to write a report about the Simple Past Tense by using the Micro office PowerPoint.
- students have to exchange their reports about the Simple Past Tense by using the e-mail of the group.
Teaching activities
1-The role of the teacher:
to divide the class into groups
to distribute the tasks among the students
to manage the activities and the time
to facilitate the performance of the student
to prepare the Web Quest
to prepare the Micro Office Power Point on the computers.
2-The role of the students:
students will use the skill of searching and co-operative learning strategy to:
find out the needed information by using the internet explorer resources.
write a report about the gained information by using Micro Office Word or Micro office PowerPoint on the computer.
discuss their ideas and information orally.
exchange their reports by using the e-mail of the group.
THE STRATEGY
the duration : 45 minutes
general discussion about the Simple Past Tense and the introduction : 5 minutes
searching and finding out the information : 15 minutes
discussing the gained ideas :10 minutes
doing exercises :10 minutes
the conclusion: referring to the note in the students' book and assigning the homework: 5 minutes.
Suggestions
My students have done this Web Quest and I divide the students into groups , and I find that is a good idea and it is more exciting ,so I recommend dividing students into groups but according to your own point of view.
