Phase III (Metabolism and Muscle Building) Since the contest ended, I've been raising my metabolism from 2100 calories per day to currently (4/28/01) 2600 calories per day, increasing my calorie intake by 100 calories more each week. My protein intake started at 1.5 grams per pound and has been held steady at 270 grams ever since. My fat intake is at 10% of total calorie intake. Carbs make up the rest.
I am suplementing with MaxComplete vitamins, MaxPro and Max Glutamine. I also am taking in extra fat in the form of flax seed oil which provides me with omega-3 essential fatty acids that I may not be getting enough of from food.
Thus during this phase, weight lifting is four time a week and aerobics are kept at 4 times a week. I keep the aerobics light since I will have to double them in order to get results in my next leaning cycle.
I have gained five pounds of muscle and lost some fat on this phase in the first month. As I progress, I will update this page.
