A Firefighter's secret prayer Dear God, bless these hands, so that they may find, that one lost soul...which reaches from the rubble, relying on my strength to set them free... Bless my eyes, oh Lord, to see through the smoke and flames, to change the fate of someone, who is indeed, in need.... Bless my ears, to hear the faint cries, of a child under a bed....or in a dark closet needing to be found, unable to realize the danger, that lay in wait.... and dear God, bless me to use my wisdom, of my years to protect me in my quest.... So that I may return home to family at the end of the day... |

I have been called to many duties Lord, and now I have been called home...I've had to leave the ones i love to stand before your throne... I'll not complain, it's not my way, but there are things i need to ask.... And please Lord, grant them to me for the loved ones I hold so fast..... I dare to ask because I know how you have blessed in the past..... I've learned to trust in your grace, oh Lord, that's how i have come this far..... So now oh god, I humbly pray, hear this fire chief's prayer..... Bless my wife an family, so often left alone-They knew where I was going, an trusted you to bring me home..... Well now i am home and wait for them....Keep them with in the faith.....that oneday, someway, we will be together in this place... And oh dear God, bless my men, i trained them the best I could... I tried to do your will with them, and lead them the best i could... I need to know your with them Lord, or how else can I stay...and enjoy this place of endless day.. This heaven where there is no night, no fire to kill or burn, I guess thats why I can rest, its now my turn... An Lord, be with my community, and keep it safe as it can be... For all its folks are special an very dear to me... They are all my friends, an by your grace i served them the best i could.. So hear this fire chief's prayer oh Lord, I already knew you would.. |

To walk with a hero... The halls were dark an full of smoke... One deep breath, you would surely choke.....you clinche your axe, and prepare for the worst..... All around you, chemicals in drums that could possibly burst... The men cannot see in front of them, not even an inch... With the smell of burnt plastic, an the unbareable stench... They have been trained well to notice, the breaks in the fire... So they move on ahead, even though their bodies start to tire... As they search through the debris, listening for yells an cries.. With the heat so intense sweat drips in their eyes... Without hesitation, they go in an risk their own lives... With the support from their families, there children an wives.. They will always be hero's even the men that were lost... Because they do their job faithfully, at any an all costs...

The Fireman's Last Prayer Oh Lord, let me die a natural death, because I dont want to burn..I have seen so many Lord, for fresh air did they yearn... I have held the lifeless body of a little child... Please Lord, let me die a natural death, let me stay around a little while.. And while I am praying to you Lord, there are others next to me.... Provide an exit from this fate, so we can all be free... But if in the line of duty, I must go this way... let me know before I go another I have saved.... |
