A Year In Review: Division 20
As the 2004 Ohio District Convention nears, I will be retiring from the position of the Division 20 Lieutenant Governor. We had an awesome year! I am so proud of the countless service hours that our division provided this year! Back in April of 2003, I made a list of goals for our division. All of these goals have been met with the help of the members of Division 20! I wanted our division to participate in a divisional project in support of the Children’s Miracle Network and other organizations. We not only participated in the “Miracle Links” project, but raised over $1300 for CMN and donated about 300 hours of service which gained much publicity! We also donated over 50,000 pop tabs to Akron Children’s Hospital and provided the Summit County Children’s Services Home with warm items as well as helping out at a Christmas party. As part of my platform back in January 2003, I wanted to increase communication. We definitely achieved this goal through 6 President Council Meetings, 7 Division 20 Meetings, 1 K-Family meeting, and 3 divisional projects. I was proud to see so many active members of our division come to these events. Communication was also increased by countless emails and a divisional website at www.geocities.com/keyclubdiv20ohio. Another goal of mine was to build a Key Club at an area high school. With the support of Division 20 Kiwanis Clubs, we are now chartering a Key Club at Tallmadge High School. The outstanding efforts from our Key Club members will be awarded at a Divisional Awards Ceremony to be held in April at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. It has been a pleasure to serve Division 20! Keep up the awesome work as we move into the new administrative year!
