Spot, camouflaged to the outside world by the branches once on top of the tower, opens his eyes to ravens squawking over a pile of armor with dog bones sticking out where the legs and arms would usually be. "Ted?" The ravens look toward Spot but see only a pile of dried wood. "Ted! We over slept, the sun is at its zenith!" The ravens squawk at the pile.
"No mommy I don't want to go to work today. There be no toys at work." He attempts to put his thumb in his mouth and finds the apple core with his mouth "Ymmm ymmm ymmm ymmm..."
As Spot scans his abode he finds he is underneath the branches in a fashion similar to that of Eeeyore's house, except a bit disheveled. Looking toward Ted, Spot finds Ted sucking on the apple core in full battle armor decorated with dents and scratches up and down the length of his body. "Ted?" the ravens squawk again, reaching with his gauntlet taps Ted's breastplate, snapping his hand back realizing he also is dressed in full battle armor with similar decorations. As he realizes that he can't remember why their armor is decorated so, he begins shaking Ted vigorously, clanging his armor against his, sending the ravens into a noisy flight. "Ted! What happened?! Why is the armor in such poor condition?!" he looks at himself again, "Why are we still in armor?!"
Ted sits up dings his head on a low-lying branch, "Ow! What's that doin' there?" He looks at Spot, "What are you yelling about?"
"The dents..." Spot yells.
Covering Spot's mouth, Ted warns, "Don't yell anymore. Now what are you yelling about?"
"Ted?"
"Yes Spot."
"Why is our armor covered with dents and scratches, and why are we in full battle armor, and Ted..." He looks around himself then yells, "Where are we?!" making Ted squint.
Ted Grabs Spot's breast plate and warns him again, "What did I say about yelling?"
"Don't."
"So why are you yelling?"
"I'm scared Ted. I don't know where we are."
"So you just had to yell didn't you?"
"Why..."
"I don't want to hear it. Let me tell you what happened now. Okay?"
"Ted?"
"No no no. When I ask, 'Okay,' it doesn't mean Spot say, 'Ted,' it means Spot say, 'Okay.' Okay?"
"Okay. But Ted?"
"Arghh. Its no use. You have a skull thicker than an ox. What do you want?"
"Why don't you want me to yell?"
"Cause I have a headache."
"Why?"
"I was about to tell you before, but now I don't think you are interested anymore."
"About what?"
"See what I mean?" Confused Spot starts to look around again and gasps, provoking Ted to cover his mouth before he begins screaming again. "Remember, don't yell."
"Ted your armor isn't ready for inspection, how come your armor is so dented and scratched up, don't you take care of your armor?" Then looking around he gasps and yells "Ted where are we, how come we are in full armor, how come you have a headache, how come our armor is ruined?" Ted takes his gauntlets from his ears, peering as if looking through Spot, wiggling his finger for Spot to come closer. "I don't want to. You're gonna hit me."
"Now why would I do that?" Spot shrugs. "Would it be because you are yelling?" Spot shrugs again. "Never mind. Now you want to know why we are in full armor, and why it is dented and scratched, and where we are right?" Spot nods. "Remember what I told you about the armor being magical?" Spot nods. "Well then you should see. The magic took over our minds and body and exhausted us." looking to see if Spot was following along, instead finding confusion, then goes on to say, "See that pile of armor out there, well if you look beyond that you will see legions of dead soldiers. You see we defeated them. Because of the magic we beserked and defended our home."
"Ohhh... So thats why..."
"We are here? Yes, quite right. After we finished off the enemy our bodies were so tired that the magic built this shelter," knocks on the wood, "here. So you see thats why I have a headache, thats why our armor is damaged so, and thats where we are."
"Where?"
"Here."
"Oh okay, so what do we do now that the enemy is all dead?"
"Well the first thing we need to do is get out of here. It's really gonna start smelling around here in a little while."
"You think we could go to the castle?"
"I don't see why not. They might even be waiting for us there."
They emerge from their shelter as two soldiers who have fought a war and won. Though who knows what has happened. For not even Spot and Ted can remember what happened during the battle. So, they begin their trek with their journey to the castle. They will travel a battlefield full of fallen warriors with their last thoughts painted on each of their faces. Fear. Pain. Mortification. Despondency. Confusion. Frustration. Determination. Pride. The faces of war painted on each dead man's face.
