"Ted, what are we doing out here anyways?" leaning over the edge of the battlement trying to retrieve an apple on the outside of the battlement just inches from his fingertips.
"Well you know, Spot" pulling his companion back in before he goes over the edge, "just in case."
"Dang, almost had it." Ted puts a hand on Spot's shoulder just before he attempts to take off his mail.
Ted leans out and looses a bolt into the apple, "You should know that this armor is magical."
"What do you mean magical?"
"Well what do you think, do you think that we could hold off an entire army on our own, just us two?"
"You're kidding! Right Ted? I don't want to fight no army."
"Nope. And you know we couldn't possibly take on a whole army by ourselves, so this armor must be enchanted."
"Yeah so?"
"Don't you know that magic can improve your abilities?"
"Oh yeah, we could hold off a whole legion if we wanted to? Is that what you are saying? 'Cause I don't feel like I could take on a whole legion."
"See you gotta have faith. With this armor you could take on up to three legions of slavering barbarians."
"Oh" Spot reaches out and grabs the bolt with the apple on it and starts eating it. "I don't think I could do that, Ted."
"Of course you could. Remember, it's all about faith."
"So if we can take on three legions of men, whats this wood for?"
"It's to warm up the magic."
"It doesn't work already?"
"Of course it does, but see with this right here," Ted knocks on the battlement, "We could repel twenty legions of men."
"You sure?"
"I'm positive. See with the magic warmed up and this battlement we could do it."
"I still don't think we could do it Ted."
"Here let me show you. You take a lookout while I try to light the fire."
Spot looks through the spyglass, "Ted."
"What? I am trying to light the fire."
"What can be harvested this time of the year?"
"I don't know. Why?"
"Because it looks like that field over there is ready to be harvested."
"Odd I helped my paw plant his wheat just last month. What do you see?"
"It looks like a field of sticks with colorful tops on them."
"Ah, there we go. I got the fire lit. We should start feeling the magic in a little bit. Let me see what you are looking at." Ted looks through the spyglass. "Ah it must be banner season. Yeah those banners are a nice bunch. Oh look they are preparing to harvest them. Wait what are those things coming up from behind the harvesters?"
"Let me take a look. Why those are more men and they got swords and stuff. And look they got those huge wagons for transporting the banners. But, what are those long arms for Ted?"
"Why they must be so they can load the banners. Wait they are putting rocks in those things! Quick we got to go and tell them they are doing it all wrong!"
"Wait Ted your all tangled up in those sticks!" Just as Spot says this Ted turns around and falls onto the edge of the battlement. "Hold on Ted, I'll save you." Spot trips falls off the edge, "Save me Ted!"
"I got you Spot!" and Ted is pulled off the battlement with Spot as he catches his leg. As Spot hits the ground, Ted falls on him and knocks him out. Ted gets up and leans over Spot. "Spot are you okay?" And the sticks Ted and Spot tripped over falls off the battlement showering Ted and Spot. "Oof," with that Ted's world goes black. Had it been any other war, Ted and Spot would have been hailed for warning the kingdom about the impending massacre. There will be no heroes parade for Spot and Ted.
