Rendering Konnakkol Jathis

 

Konnakkol is now a days a very rare field. This is a special kind of art of rendering the rhythmic syllables of mridangam and other Indian percussion instruments.  This he often uses in composing the dance numbers and jathis. He learnt this rare and special art form from his guru Needaamangalam Shri. Krishnamurthy Bhaagawathar.

 

POINT REQUIRING SPECIAL MENTION

 

In the Month of February 2000 he was invited as guest for the Programme ‘Vaazhndhu Kaattuvom’ produced by AIR, Chennai. It was a live phone-in show and he was interviewed for 55 minutes in appreciation of his outstanding achievement in propagating Keyboard in the field of Indian Classical music and dance.  

Article was published in the New Indian Express during 2001.

An article was published in the Tamil weekly ‘Kumudam’ (Issue dated November 1, 2002 under the heading ‘Kudattil Itta Vilakku’.
