PARABLESOF THE TALENTS AND THE POUNDS

Summary: cont

FREEDOM FROM THE LAW

    The Apostle John said;
"For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that He might destroy the works of the devil."
(1Joh. 3:8).

The word destroy,
comes from the Greek word LUO
It means to loosen.
Jesus loosened the works of the devil,
by making them unattached to us.

This agrees with Rom. 6:6;
"knowing this that our Old Man is crucified with Him,
that the body of SIN might be destroyed"

The Greek word for destroyed here is katargeo,
and it means to render useless, or idle.

The body of SIN is loosen and rendered idle in us,
as long as we are living under grace and not under the law.

Christ came and nailed the law,
contained in ordinances to His Cross,
and loosened this law or principle of works from us.

Before we can understand what this means,
we must understand the primary work of the devil.
The devil does many evil things,
but there is one basic thing he wants to do with all.

In the Garden of Eden, the devil,
through SIN deceived Eve,
and caused her to eat of the forbidden fruit,
of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil.

When Adam and Eve partook of this fruit,
they acquired the knowledge of Good and Evil.
With this knowledge they acquired SIN in them,
for SIN is part of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil.

The Apostle Paul says in Rom. 7:15-25:

"The Good that I want to do I don't but I do Evil.
The Evil that I don't want to do I end up doing,
but it is no more I that do it but SIN that dwelleth in me."

Sin dwells in all of us,
because Adam and Eve broke God's command,
and ate of the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil.
We have this knowledge of good and evil in us,
and each time we behave by what is good and evil,
like Adam and Eve,
we are partaking of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil.

When we decide things by Good and Evil, right and wrong,
we partake of this tree, and we stir up the flesh (desires of our soul)
and under this law, our desires become sinful
(Rom 7:5)

The desires of the flesh are so great,
and we know by the Word of God that it is wrong,
but we still end up doing it.

This is what happened to Adam.
He knew it was wrong,
for God told him,
but he listened to Eve who represents our soul.

When we behave by what is good and evil,
we have put ourselves in the place of God,
and we become little gods acting like God.
We do things apart from God, or the Word of God,
and by how we feel.

    Satan said to Eve,
"Ye shall become as gods,
knowing Good and Evil".

Satan wants all of us to act as little gods apart from God.
He wants all of us to be independent,
and apart from God,
making decisions by what is Good and what is Evil.

He wants all of us to be our own god.

He wants all to be divide from God,
and from each other,
in our thinking and behavior,
and cause confusion and tumoil.

The very first thing He said to Jesus,

"prove that you are the Son of God,
by turning these stones into bread."

Jesus would not act apart from His Father,
and quoted the Scriptures again and again.

There are many disagreements among Christians,
because we are little gods acting like big gods,
by deciding what is right or wrong or who is right or wrong.

This knowledge of Good and Evil is in us from birth.
But we all have different ideas,
about what is right and what is wrong.

It is in our subconscious mind, and we are not aware,
until the age of accountability, which is the age of awareness.
We all admit that we are not perfect,
and we justify ourselves by blaming others,
on circumstances and on things.

    The Ten Commandments,
were given to bring the sinfulness in us,
from the subconscious mind to the conscious mind,
that we may know and admit,
that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.

The unbelievers know when they do wrong, but they justify themselves.
The Ten Commandments were given,
to bring out sin and its sinfulness,
and to point us to Christ,
who has redeemed us from the penalty and power of Sin
(Rom. 7:13; Gal. 3:13, 24).

The world standard is based on right and wrong.
As a child, when you are good you are praised,
and patted on the head,
and spanked when you do things that are bad.

In school you have good grades for good work,
and bad grades for failing works.

In the armed services,
promotions and demotions.

At work raises and promotions,
or you are suspended or fired for negative works, etc.

In this world everything we do,
has to do with merits and demerits.

We were raised by this standard,
and it is difficult to see it any other way.

God's Grace is difficult to understand fully because of this.

Satan wants us to do things by according to how we feel,
and think what is right and wrong
(in determining our walk in the things of God).

Christ came to loosen us from this,
that we walk in His grace by faith, and according to the Word of God.

What is right and what is wrong,
must be decided by the Word of God,
and not by what we have decided,
by our feelings and our own intelligence.

    Many different doctrines,
 commandments and traditions of man,
have crept into the Christian Churches.

Many feel they are right in what they are doing,
but it is not according to the Word of God rightly divided.

The knowledge of Good and Evil is in us,
and SIN is in us too,
but Sin in us will remain loosen and idle,
as long as we are under grace and not under law.

For under grace,
love is emphasized and established.
Love will prevail and the temptation of right or wrong,
will not be provoked.

this knowledge of right and wrong,
SIN, the Old Man, is without strength,
and is idle and useless in us under grace.

It is not trying to bite our lips when anger is aroused in us.
It is not trying not to sin,
but to be in the realm of grace.
In the realm of grace, love is dominant,
and anger will not arise at all.

Trying to do good or trying not to sin,
will also provoke the old man.
(Rom. 7:15-17)

The Old Man, SIN, is crucified,
when He nailed the law with all its ordinances on the Cross,
for without the law SIN is dead.
When I put myself under the law, or the principle of what I must do,
by what is right and what is wrong, I become attached to the law.
Sin in me, is awakened and given strength by this principle.

When I leave this principle nailed to the Cross,
I remain crucified, and I no longer behave
by what is right, and what is wrong,
and no longer the god that I think I am.

Now the Word of God is dominant in my life,
and the Holy Spirit will have the liberty to work in me,
and through me, for the Glory of God.

    Satan wants the Christians,
to be attached to this principle of right and wrong,
and to do things apart from the Word of God and be our own gods.
Christ came to loosen us from this principle,
that we are under grace,
and we walk by faith in the Word of God.
We do know what is right and what is wrong,
but the grace of God is the determining factor.

Whatever wrong anyone do to us,
is forgiven under grace.

It is one thing to know in our mind,
the principle of grace versus law.
It is quite another thing to let it grip our hearts,
and to fully understand this.

Paul wrote the Book of Romans and Galatians
as the basic teaching for the Christian, in knowing that they
are under Grace and not under law.

You cannot be under both at the same time.
It is either grace or law.
If one does not understand the basic teaching of Romans,
the rest of the epistles to the Churches,
will not be truly understood.

Some of the key verses in Romans.
 6:14;
 "For sin shall not have dominion over you;
for ye are not under the law but undergrace."

7:6;
"But now we are delivered from the law,
that being dead in which we were held,
that we should serve in newness of spirit (mind),
and not in oldness of the letter."

 7:25;
"I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
So then, with the mind (spirit)
I myself serve the law of God;
but with the flesh (desires), the law of sin."

The law of God is the principle of Grace.
What God has done for us.
The law of Sin is the desire of the flesh, what I want to do for God.
This is the most difficult thing for a Christian to acknowledge,
that there is nothing we can,
or is required of me, to do  for God.
It is all done in Christ.  It is finished.

The Book of Genesis to Revelation
is already written, and all things will be accomplished,
in this world and in the heavens.
It could be accomplished in us,
if we will only let God have His way with us.
But it must be under Grace and not under law.
Under grace, He is my God, under law I am my own god.
