Sarah Terry

For the previous 3 years I have been teaching ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern from primary to intermediate levels at Bojangles Dance School preparing students for examinations and show work. I also have extensive experience in teaching baby ballet and adult classes, free jazz classes , point work classes and Body Conditioning.

I have also carried out the same at Dance Network for around 18 Months .

Other activities include Street Dance classes for 11 to 17 year olds at a local health club and organising and teaching dance workshops in different dance styles for students from 5 to 17 years.

Performing Experience

I have performed live in Ballet, Modern, Tap, jazz, Contemporary and Irish dance as part of my dance school annual shows in front of audiences of 800 people .

I have carried out other professional work as part of The Vegas Show Girls and Funky Feathers, touring around the UK at different corporate events.

I have worked in television as part of a dance troupe, performing in an advertisement.

I have performed in a leading role in a series of performances of Copacabana at the Garrick theatre in the City of Lichfield.

Choreography

I am experienced in choreographing pieces in all styles of dance for my dance school annual shows.

I have arranged dances for examinations in modern and tap from primary to intermediate level and recently choreographed routines for a hair and beauty fashion chain .

I have extensive experience in working with solos, duets and groups for chorography competitions.

Voluntary Activity

I attended Chichester’s ISTD summer school in 2007 during which time I studied modern and tap from primary to advanced 2 level.

It assisted me in learning and understanding a wider knowledge of the syllabi an has given an incite to the creation of the new tap grades.

This involved working along side qualified teachers from all over the world and being taught by highly experienced examiners including Paddy Hearlings, Katie Morea, Sarah Wilson, Gaynor Owen, Christina Ballard, Tracey Lee, Helen Green, Lyn Richardson, Tereza Theodoulou, Val Jones and Jaqui Tapstell.
