For Kevins Dads birthday we took him to see Cirque De Soleil. They performed in a Big Top in the car park of the Trafford Shopping Centre, and this was the first time they had performed outside of London. Cirque De Soleil performs all over the world with their unique performances. We went to and watched Quidam. The show is a combination of circus acts, a musical show, and art. There is a story that goes through the show, but the best parts of the show were the brilliant artists and the music they performed to. They have taken Circus acts to a different level with the quality of their performance. Unfortunately they didnt take the seating arrangements to a different level as we were sat on a small hard bench all night. However, it was a very special show to see, that we all thoroughly enjoyed and we would recommend anyone to go and see any of the shows Cirque de Soleil perform around the world.

Commonwealth Games - Issue 6 2001
Weve both volunteered to help out with the Commonwealth Games held in Manchester next July/August. Justine was interviewed to drive VIPs and journalist around (good luck to them as she doesnt know how to get around Manchester). Kevin was interviewed for IT but was also asked about his stage management experience so is hoping to be involved in the opening or closing ceremony, or as a ceremony manage for the presentation of the medals. Justine has already helped out inputting all the other applications from volunteers. We should here what the jobs are that we will be doing soon. We arent bothered what jobs we do but we hope the jobs will allow us to see some of the events as we forgot to apply for tickets for the events and all the big events are already sold out.

Beanies - Issue 6 2001
Beanie Bears are taking over the house. The collection that started last year has progressed to over 70 bears. Kevin has even has to build some shelves for them that are already full up. Theyve all had their photos taken as individuals and in groups. This was more of a cataloguing exercise but it also do for insurance purposes as they are worth a fair amount of money. If any of you have a good source for obtaining any bears let Justine know as she is always on the lookout for new ones or the rarer bears.

After a chance remark made by Kevin, Justine joined the mad world of beanies and began to collect Ty Beanie Babies, Bears only. She now has 36 and the only ones she hasnt got are the really hard to find ones which are really very expensive. Let me know if any of you have a good source for getting any of the new ones that come out.

Then & Now - Issue 4 1999
The picture of our house that is on the top of the page we obtained by someone knocking on our door. This year we had someone knock on the door wanting us to buy a picture of our house in 1932. It turns out the RAF took pictures of most of England in the 1930s and this company has bought them. Unfortunately our house was built in 1936 so it isnt on the picture, but you can see the tree at the end of the garden, which we have circled. The salesman convinced us that our house was on the picture. After buying it we had a closer look and realised our house wasnt on the picture. We returned the picture and got out money back. However before we returned it, we scanned the picture into the computer, have printed it on a colour printer, which we have now framed and it is on our wall. For those of you who know Crewe, the road at the bottom of the picture is Nantwich Road and the Works can be seen at the top of the picture. The big area of fields in the bottom left hand corner is where Dane Bank College is.

In Print Again - Issue 4 1999
This year we both got in print and somewhere a bit special. We were sitting outside the football ground in Barcelona waiting to be let in to see the European Cup. We bought the program and were flicking though it when we spotted the above picture. It was taken at the European Cup Semi Final Match in Manchester against Juventus and shows Ryan Giggs scoring a goal. You can see us both straining our necks to see the goal from our normal seats.
