Home Modification
I have refurbished the spare room and moved Fiona in there. Fiona
chose the colour and style. It is bigger than her original room. I hope
she takes care of it! I intend to do my room next. Excuse the photo, my
camera doesn't like photographing rooms, they come out like a
fishbowl.

Choir Festival
I
went to the the Wollongong Town Hall last night (Thursday 17 Aug) to
hear Fiona's school choir group sing in the Southern Illawarra Music
Festival. It was great. There were about 6 school choirs there and
they sang together in a massed choir as well as putting on individual
school performances. I thoroughly enjoyed it even though 1000
parents squeezed into a room big enough to comfortably hold only 800.
The slightly inadequate picture is of the choir from Fiona's school,
Albion Park Rail Primary. Click on it for a slightly better photo.

Circus
Fiona and I went to the circus at Dapto on Sunday 27th
Aug 2000. We both enjoyed it greatly and the Ashtons put on a wonderful
performance especially when you consider that their beloved Queenie
Ashton died the day before and someone stole their circus horse that
same morning. They must have been feeling miserable.

Sydney
On the 2nd Sept,2000 I took Mum to see Uncle Roy who
has been in hospital in Sydney for some time. Fiona went with us.
Shortly after we got there we had to leave in order to abide by the
hospitals visiting times. We had a two hour wait before we could visit
him again and so we decided to catch a train to Circular Quay and go for
a ferry ride to Darling Harbour. Sydney is like a sparkling new coin at
the moment all dressed up for the Olympics. We walked from Darling
Harbour to Town Hall and caught a train back to the hospital. Uncle Roy
seems much better and is expecting to go back to Orange shortly. It was
a tiring but enjoyable day. We had MacDonalds on the way up.

BBQ
2nd Sept, 2000
Went to Doreen and Bruce's today for a BBQ to celebrate
Fathers day. It was very enjoyable.

BBQ
9th Sept, 2000
Brett and Lisa asked us over to their place for a BBQ'd
chook. We enjoyed it very much.

Olympic torch
We got up early this morning (11 Sep, 2000) and drove
to Warilla to see the Olympic torch pass through. I picked up
Millie, Lillie and Ruby on the way. It was 6.45 am, Fireworks and Police
cars and Harley motorbikes and buses and colour everywhere. It was very
enjoyable.

During the school holidays - Tennis Clinic
Fiona has enrolled in a tennis clinic and it started
today the 11th Sept, 2000. In the afternoon when she came home she told
me she enjoyed it. I am glad and I would like to see her get interested
in a sport of some description at a competitive level. I bought her a
tennis racquet in order to encourage her. After attending the three days
of tennis Fiona has asked me if she can go again.

During the school holidays - Sleepover
Kayla and Fiona were talking on the phone and I was
promplty asked if Fiona could go to Kayla's place and spend a couple of
nights. I agreed. The next day Fiona fell over and took skin off her
knees, elbows, hands and head. She was trying to ride blades at the
time.
During the school holidays - The Tent
After coming home Fiona convinced me to put the tent up
in our back yard and spend the night in it. She changed her mind after a
while and we ended up inside in our own beds. I think the noises she
heard in the back yard might have spooked her.
During the school holidays - Jessica
The next day her friend Jessica came around and
together they decided they would like to spen the night together in the
tent. I agreed and Jessica's Grandma agreed.... Surprise! They did it,
and the next night as well. Then they dismantled the tent, took it to
Jessica's place and re-assembled it there. They then intended to spend
the night in the tent there. However the weather closed in and noises in
the yard worried them so they went inside and had a sleepover instead
During the school holidays - The Movies
Fiona and I went to the movies during the holidays. We
saw ? it was a very memorable movie.

Corrimal Street Fair - 8th October
This was great, marching bands, marching girls, fair
rides, demonstrations, dancing demonstrations, artists, stalls
helicoptor rides and so on, it had it all.

Paralympic Flame - 12th October
The flame was carried along a nearby road and so, I
picked my mother up from her home and we went down to watch it. The
atmosphere was electric and very contagious. The flame was exchanged
right in front of us and the school kids and parents were going off
their heads - cheering Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oy, oy oy.

Gerringong - 14th October
Fiona and I went to Kiama and had lunch on the jetty
and then on to Gerringong to do some rock hopping and collect shells and
stones. We got into trouble though because we forgot to ask Grandma if
she would like to go. We will have to make another trip.

Paralympics - 27th October

The school took about three hundred kids to the
paralympics today and three hundred yesterday which represents about
75% of the schools pupils - I would rather them than me!
Fiona went today and said it was great. She saw the wheel
chair basketball. I will post a photo here when they are developed.

5th November 2000
Dean Nabbe and Jeannette Kennedy Got married.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Nabbe!
Fiona and I went to the wedding. It was an outside wedding in a park. The
reception was at the Bowling Club. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.
