| The next morning Magdalena and Kevin barely spoke. They were with the rest of the group downstairs eating breakfast, and Magdalena felt really angry. It was the fact that she saw Alexis kissing Kevin, but she was angry with herself for believing that Kevin had any feelings for her. When Kevin tried to say hello to her, she would only ignore him. When she sat down at the table, she sat in between Brian and Howie. "Good morning Magdalena." Both of them said. Magdalena smiled and softly said good morning back. Kevin kept glancing at Magdalena, wondering what was wrong. He felt some kind of hate towards him, and it prayed that it wasn't from last night. He walked over to the table and asked to speak to Magdalena, but Magdalena walked away. She tried to head for the elevator, but Kevin stopped her. "Magdalena, don't run away from me. Tell me what's wrong." Kevin said. "It's nothing." Magdalena replied. "Nothing. Come on, you haven't talked to me all morning. So I know something's wrong." "Kevin, I'm just a little tired this morning. I stayed out pretty late with AJ. And you know how he is." Magdalena said. Kevin could tell that something else was wrong, but didn't want to bother Magdalena anymore. "Well I hope you're not tired later on tonight, because Alexis invited everyone to this little casual affair at this place not that far from the hotel. It's like a block away. Alexis insisted that you came with us. I don't want her to be disappointed so, I hope you'd come." "I don't know. I got this headache and I don't know if it'll be gone." Magdalena said. Kevin then looked at Magdalena, and his eyes grew begging for her to come. "Fine I'll go. But it's only because I have nothing else to do for the night." Magdalena said. Kevin smiled, and Magdalena groaned and entered the elevator. Kevin walked back to the dining area. Kevin walked back to the dining area and sat back down at the table. "So what's up with you and Magdalena? She was pretty pissed last night when she dragged me out of the club." AJ said. "What do you mean she was pissed? Did she say anything to you?" Kevin asked. AJ mentioned that Magdalena was crying on the way home, but wouldn't say what was wrong. "She didn't say anything at all to you? Man, she's been acting weird all morning. She's been avoiding me like I did something horrible." Kevin said. "She'll have to talk to you eventually. I mean the party you can trap her somehow and get her to talk to you." Nick said. "Well I think that's what I'll have to do to get her to listen to me." Kevin said. Later on that night, Kevin, Brian, Howie, and Nick were at the party mingling with guests. Kevin paced back and forth waiting for Magdalena to show up. Finally Alexis walked over and told him to stop waiting at the door. "She'll come trust me. I mean AJ will bring her over right?" Alexis said. "Yes, but she seemed really upset with me. She didn't act like she wanted to be around something or me." Kevin said. Alexis suggested that Kevin go mingle with everyone else, and stop standing at the door. He walked away from the door and walked off to talk to the other guests. He was mainly talking to other people that were in the music industry. Kevin waited another hour for Magdalena to come. He then began to give up hope and just stood by a window in despair. He wondered if Magdalena was upset with his relationship with Alexis. She was acting weird since he accepted the date with her, and hasn't acted the same since. As he was looking out of the window, someone tapped him on his shoulder. He heard the soft whisper of someone say "Why are you standing at the window looking lonely?" Kevin turned around hoping it was going to be Magdalena, but instead it was Alexis. She escorted Kevin out to the balcony. "She isn't coming darling." She said. "She'll come. She even said that she was coming." "Baby, it's almost eleven thirty. She would have came by now. Kev, come inside and join the party. Dance with me." They walked back inside and Alexis dragged Kevin into a small space where they could dance. The song "Linger" by the Cranberries began to play, and the two of them began to dance. Kevin tried to concentrate on Alexis, but he could only think of Magdalena. Alexis placed her head on his shoulder. She closed her eyes and started to hum to the melody of the song. For a few moments there was silence between them, but Alexis quietly said "I remember this was the song that was playing when we made love for the last time." "That was a long time ago." "I know it was, but to me this song will always belong in my heart. Just like you." Alexis said, kissing Kevin's neck. "Alexis, remember we're just friends. I care about someone else." "Well you may care about her, but I don't think she cares about you. I mean the girl didn't even have the nerve to show up," Alexis began to say as she looked into Kevin's eyes, "And I was doing a lot of thinking.You know we've been apart for a good couple of years, and we've tried to remain friends. But I have to be honest with myself. I can't remain friends with someone that I'm sexually attracted to. It's just impossible." "Alexis, I told you that it's over. I can't be with you anymore." "Come on seriously. I know we can't be together, but I know you still want to." "Alexis..." Kevin said just before Alexis kissed him quickly. Kevin at first tried to pull away, but then he started to get into it. The two were kissing for a very long time, until they both heard someone whisper "you bastard!". Kevin saw Magdalena running out the doors and he groaned. "Shit, Magdalena." He followed her outside. It was pouring rain, and lightning was flashing. "Magdalena wait!" Kevin said, grabbing Magdalena by her arm. "Don't touch me!" Magdalena screamed. Tears were rolling down her cheek, and she was shaking with disappointment. Magdalena ran back to the hotel, and tried to run to the room. Kevin frantically chased her down, and grabbed her again. "Don't touch me you son of a bitch." She screamed as she pushed Kevin away. She then sobbed uncontrollably and tried to gain composure. "I trusted you, and look what happened. You broke my heart again. How could you kiss her?" She managed to say. Kevin saw how hurt Magdalena truly was, and knew that Magdalena truly loved him. "It was a dumb mistake. I didn't mean to do that, but the kiss meant nothing. You have to believe me." Kevin said. Magdalena only slapped Kevin across his face, and managed to make it to the hotel room. Kevin barged in after her, and fell down on his knees. Magdalena stood in front of him and cried even more. She wanted nothing to do with this man. She gave her heart to him, and was willing to love him again, but he just wanted her to keep his bed warm at night. Kevin knew he was throwing away a good relationship with his possible soul mate. He knew that Magdalena was the right woman for him, yet he didn't realize it until he knew he could lose her forever. Kevin was on his knees on the floor, practically in tears. He was shaking, not only from his wet clothes, but also from the fact that he knew Magdalena was truly disappointed. "I don't want to fight with you. I love you too much to do that. Just forgive me please. Maggie, I can't be like this. It just breaks my heart to be like this. Look what you saw was my stupidity, and you saw someone trying to manipulate me. I swear on my life that I'm not in love with Alexis, and she totally means nothing to me. You're the only woman I want to be with. I can't live without you. I think I'd die without you." Kevin said, just before breaking down to cry. Magdalena never saw Kevin cry in her entire life, but to see his tears, made everything he said seem creditable. "Maggie, please believe me. I love you so much, and I can't lose you." Kevin said, as his voice cracked. Magdalena pulled Kevin up and kissed him passionately. They both sat down on the bed, and held each other. Kevin finally stopped crying when he realized that Magdalena finally forgave him. "Babe, it's okay." She whispered into Kevin's ear. "I just love you so much. I can't imagine my life without you. It wouldn't be complete." Kevin responded back. They spent the rest of the night, holding each other, and eventually fell asleep. |
