Redken
It is known on heavily foggy nights when all is quiet, you can hear the bellows and creeks of a mighty ship moving up and down the waters of the mighty Ohio river. Only a few eyes have ever fallen upon this ghostly site.
It is said the ship sails the ohio river looking for a new captain and crew. Hoping some restless souls will find thier new home aboard her deck for all of eternity.

2 1/2 centries ago,the Redken, a monsterous pirate ship, hunted the open waters of the gulf coast, attacking any ship that came within site. Killing all crewmen aboard and stealing everything they could remove. This went on for 5 to 6 years.
One night a major tropical storm came upon the Redken and washed her way up the Mississippi river. After the storm deminished, the captain,Captain Skipjack, found to his horror, they had been cut off to the open sea due to a large sand bar roughly a mile long were the water level was a shallow 7 foot deep.
Knowing the Redken would never travel in the open sea agian, he headed north into unknown territory. His travels brought them far north to the Ohio river. Along the way he and his crew came across all kinds of strange people. Which we know as indians. Eventaully he meet Chief Cornstalk. They soon came to be good friends. Until they tried to do business together.
One night, for no reason at all the Redken and her crew dissappeared. Some say she sank during a flood. Others say it was cursed. But we've found the true story......
                                  -------------------------------------------
It may have sank due to the deal that Captain Skipjack made with Chief Cornstalk. The Chief and the Captain hade made a deal on shipping goods to the lower portions of the mighty Ohio river. They agreed on noone knowing what the "goods" were, except for the Chief and the receipiants.
After a few months of everything going smoothly...the Captains curiousity got the best of him. Upon examining the cargo, the Capt found that he and his crew were shipping gold, tons of it, to the Chief's brothers, Corncob and CornBeefHash, in Cornfield Ohio.
Oh'course, being a pirate the Captian decided he wanted the gold. They found a place to store their new found fortune and returned to the chief for more gold.
After a few weeks with no gold being delivered to the brothers...they realized they were being played a fool.Soon word came back to the Chief of the deception the capt was pulling. Something had to be done. Chief Cornstalk came up with a plan to sneek one of his sons,Cornbread, on board the Redken to find out exactly were the gold was going. With a crew of 65 people, including Skipjack,Cornbread could very easily fit right in unnoticed.
                           -------------------------------------------------
By early afternoon the Redken had it's cargo loaded. Along with Cornbread. Skipjack headed south to unload "his" gold. After a few days of travel the captain begin thinking of how many loads they've taken from Cornstalk. They had more then enough gold to keep them rich for their entire life. All 66 of them. Uh.....66? Who's the 66th person?
Now Skipjack was suddenly aware he had a stow-away aboard. But who...he didn't know. Quietly he would watch his crew as they ran their everyday chores. Hoping this person would show themself. By the time they reached their destination, Skipjack still had no idea who he was looking for. He figured they would show themself soon enough. So he ordered the gold unloaded. All 64 crewmen pitched in his muscles. Wait! Someone is missing! Cornbread waited until the Redken had docked before slipping over the edge of the ship unnoticed into the cool water. Letting the currents take him farther south he quietly swam for the other shore. Waiting until dark,Cornbread headed north to his father.
                              ------------------------------------------------
Skipjack realized Cornstalk must have caught on to what was happening and sent a spy. This angered Skipjack to no ends. "A spy on my ship!" thought Skipjack. "This will not do!" he yelled. Assuming Cornstalk would be looking for his gold, Skipjack called a meeting to discuss the situation. After all, it is just as much his crews gold as is his. They needed to come up with a plan to protect their stolen gold. Would they come up with something before Cornstalk could find them? Skipjack figured they had about 7 or 8 days before Cornstalk would find them. They had better get ready!
                              ------------------------------------------------
Cornbread traveled for 3 days nostop before reaching home. Upon his return Cornstalk debriefed him about the gold. Once the location was known, Cornstalk sent two of his men on horseback to his brothers,Corncob and Cornbeefhash. To meet with them at the location in 10 days. They wanted their gold back.
