OK, I know this particular arguement is long dead, but I finally have the manga to "prove" my points. My opinion: Sailor Cosmos and Sailor Moon are the same person. I have the manga open in front of me, so I am quoting straight from Ms. Takeuchi's own work. SPOILER WARNING!!!!! Sailor Moon Stars: Volume 3, page 161: Sailor Cosmos: "So I came back to do everything over. My self here was alone and suffering too. That's why I kept close and supported her...to help her make the right choice. But I realized... I had already chosen the right path. ...I've recieved great powers from Eternal Sailor Moon. The ultimate power that I was forgetting. The Sailor Moon who just saved the galaxy is Sailor Cosmos' true form. End quote So here is my theory, from these paragraphs: She couldn't have come back unless she had already been through it before. The only people there are Cosmos herself, the Quartet, and Sailor Moon. The panel in which she says "My self here was alone and suffering too. That's why I kept close and supported her." shows ChibiChibi embracing Usagi. Next she says "I had already chosen the right path". Sailor Moon had just chosen to sacrifice herself rather than destroy the Cauldron. The change Cosmos had come to make was to have the cauldron destroyed. Therefore, it was Cosmos who had made the original choice. The final quote with significance here is "The Sailor Moon who just saved the galaxy is Sailor Cosmos' true form." She just about admits that Cosmos and Sailor Moon are the same person. Now then: off of concrete proof and on speculation: "Eternal Sailor Moon's final show of courage and power." That seems to imply that Usagi will never be Sailor Moon again. In a previous, early manga (I'm not going to wait to get that one to prove my point, read it yourself.)it is stated that the Moon Princesses and Queens can seal away evil and can heal/rebuild, but can not fight, except as senshi. So if Usagi is going to fight Chaos in the future, she's going to need to be a senshi. But she can't become Sailor Moon... therefore, there is a good chance she would have to become Cosmos. There are the various similarities in the costuming and looks between Sailor Moon and Sailor Cosmos. Also, there is the simple fact that Time Travel is a taboo, only broken by those closest to Setsuna. Sailor Moon and Rini are the only ones who travel freely through time. The other senshi had to accompany Rini and Usagi to manage the travel. Also, Sailor Moon is the only one who broke the taboo about changing time by meeting with her future self: Neo-Queen Serenity. They say histroy repeats itself...
