| The two story building in the background served the farming industrie in the village. During the harvest season farmers lined up to have seeds ground to prepare it for feed. Sometimes it appeared like the Hollywood Freeway during rush hour. =============== Das zweistoeckige Gebauede im Hintergrund war unsere Schrotmuehle. Waehrend der Erntezeit standen Fuhrwerke Schlange, als ob sie Karten zur Fussball- Weltmeisterschaft kaufen wollten. *************** The one story building in the foreground was the practice and living quarters of our village nurse. She pasted many a bandaid on villagers body parts. *************** Das ein stoeckige Haus im Vordergrund war die Wohnung und gleichzeitig Praxis unserer Krankenschwester im Dorf. Sie hat wahrscheinlich unzaehlige Heftpflaster an beschaedigte Koerperteile geklebt. |

| We had three big farm operations in the village, two with castles on the property,all three were the major employers in the village who provided work and income for a great number of residents. They in turn contributed to the financial success of various small businesses and trades- and craftsmen =============== In dem vorwiegend Landwirtschaftlichen und Handwerklichen Betrieben, die im Dorf taetig waren, waren drei landwirtschaftliche Unternehmen die groessten Arbeitgeber und ermoeglichten vielen DorfbewohnerArbeit und Brot. Schloss Nieder- Kesselbach war eines dieser Unternehmen, es ermoeglichte es diesen Arbeitern alle anderen Geschaeftsleute zu unterstuetzen. |

| One of the small businesses used to be a bakery establishment located on the eastern end of the village. The first time I was asked, as a very young boy, to pick up a loaf of bread, I was impressed by the following sign posted at the store entrance: please don't ask for credit, we did find out that after we lost the merchandise we also lose the customer. I did not think anyone would borrow groceries. =============== Ein anderes dieser kleinen Geschaefte war die Maschke Baeckerei im Oberdorf. Das erste Mal, wenn ich ein Brot von dort holen musste, war ich beeindruckt bei einem Schild an der Eingangstuer. " BORGEN, BORGEN KANN ICH NICHT. ICH HABE HERAUS GEFUNDEN, ERST WIRD MAN DIE WARE LOS UND OBENDREIN DIE KUNDEN. I habe nie gedacht, Kesselbacher Lebensmittel borgen werden. Kreditkarten gab es damals nicht. |
| This business establishment was patronized widely by locals and visitors alike. It was a flower mill, bakery and grocery store all in one. The mill was operated by a waterwheel that was fed by a tribituary from the Kesselbach. When visitors stepped out of the train in Lissa and a stiff east wind blew one could take in a whiff of fresh baked bread from the bakery ================ Dies war die Goeldner, Raatz Muehle, Baeckerei und gleichzeitig ein Kolonialwaren Geschaeft. Es war viel besucht bei Einwohnern und Besuchern und beliebt. Die Muehle war angetrieben von einem Wasserrad das das Wasser von einem Muehlgraben, das ein Abzweig vom Kesselbach war. Dieser Graben floss direckt neben unserem Haus vorbei. Wenn Besucher aus dem Zug in Lissa ausstiegen und ein frischer Ostwind wehte, konnten deren Nasen Aroma von frish gebackenen Semmeln einziehen |
