Kerr Racing Stables goal is to maintain a healthy and happy racehorse. We have stalls both at Mountaineer Racetrack in Chester, West Virigina and on the farm in Ohio. This helps to insure proper training and physical fitness while helping the horse maintain a good attitude towards racing when they are able to come home to the farm for a few days rest! We maintain a small stable of 8 to 10 racehorses to insure each horse gets the attention and care they deserve. Wayne also gallops our own horses so we can get a good feel for what is going on with each animal. We believe that for a horse to reach its full potential it is a combination of many things - nutrition, physical fitness, attitude and the overall soundness of the horse. Our goal is for each individual horse to reach their full potential in all of these areas. |

Mountaineer Racetrack and Gaming Resort has a nice purse structure for the race horse industry. The bottom purse is $9,100 ($5,000 Maiden Claimers) of which $5,278 is awarded to the winner. The purses steadily climb from there up to $75,000 for handicap races. Mountaineer Racetrack also offers year around racing and training! We race in all kinds of weather from the beautiful summer months in the hills of West Virginia to the snow of the winter months! Turf racing is available at Mountaineer Park from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We are also within a short drive of Presque Isle Downs in Erie, PA. Presque Isle Downs offers the new Tapeta surface and has a first class purse structure. Presque Isle Downs is open for racing from May to September. We are also open to shipping to tracks like Thistledown, Charlestown, Beulah Park, Penn National and etc if those racetracks are better suited for a certain horse or state bred. |

We have access to buying horses out of several different tracks in Washington, California, Kentucky, Florida and the east coast. We will also be heading to some two year olds in training sales and a few mixed sales at Keeneland through out the year. If you are more interested in the "claiming" game we can do that too. We have a great facility to work out of and we maintain a very relaxed atmosphere to keep the horses healthy and happy.
