Klewang Sumatra Perak 2.

Klewang Sumatra Perak 2 –A rare example of a broad sword, or parang/klewang of Sumatra in origin (Zonenveld pg. 70), with wooden handle, fully encased with finely repoussed silver. The klewang sumatra usually does not come with sheath.

Thick and very sturdy blade with a broad top half and a flat tip. The base of the blade is encased with silver and has silver embedment on the blunt side.

Pamor arranged in the miring technique and are of the adeg, or standing variations, with a circumference pamor wengkon. Both the pamor adeg and the pamor wengkon is said to protect the owner.

ood condition
. Aside from very minor surface rust spots, rest is all in very good condition.

Age:  Krises and other edge weapons from the region are traditionally made without any date stampings or engravings of the makers' name. Although a kris smith or "empu" has his own styles configured together with the dapor and especially the ganjar (cross piece). Obvious age wear and tear, usage, familiarity with forms, motifs and designs, origin and history, mediums and materials used are our guidelines in determining an approximate age. This particular piece, from our experience and knowledge, should go back to the middle 19th century.
