Golok Jawa Tri Warna.

Golok Jawa Tri Warna – A good and rare example of a sword called the golok from the eastern Javanese regions. Newly made fittings are made of teak wood or jati.

Very sturdy blade with single sharp edge has beautiful and complicated pamor patterns.

Arranged in the miring technique, the base shows semi circular formations called pamor batu lapak, and above it has two different pattern arrangements. Vertical lines of pamor adeg or standing pamor, and beside it are beautifully arranged pamor unthuk banyu or water bubbles. With three pamor patterns, it is also called tri warna, or tri-colored.

The pamor batu lapak is said to protect the owner in times of chaos, while the pamor adeg is said to protect the owner from natural mishaps, and the pamor unthuk banyu is said to enhance the owner’s popularity.

Condition: Very good condition.

Age:  Krises are traditionally made without any date stampings or engravings of the makers' name. Although a kris smith or "empu" has his own styles configured together with the dapor and especially the ganjar (cross piece). Obvious age wear and tear, usage, familiarity with forms, motifs and designs, origin and history, mediums and materials used are our guidelines in determining an approximate age. This particular piece, from our experience and knowledge, should go back to middle to late 19th century blade, with late 20th century fittings.

Length of blade: 20.5".   Overall length: 27.1".

Price:- US$155 excluding shipping.
