Keris Jawa Jogja Lurus Jalak Ngore Batu Lapak.

Keris Jawa Jogja Lurus Jalak Ngore Batu Lapak – Another very good example of a keris from the central Javanese regions of Jogjakarta. Fittings in the typical gayaman Jogja styles with the handle made of hard darkwood, tayuman, and the top sheath made from well selected teak wood burl, or jati gembol. A finely repoussed and pierced through brass front stem cover or pendok, with a brass ferrule or mendak completes fittings.

Rather long and very sturdy straight blade with a prominent spine and very well executed perabots or base features, has an overall shape or dapor called jalak ngore.

Pamor patterns are condense and are arranged in the mlumah technique with an overall pamor pattern called wos
utah or scattered rice. All patterns are unplanned or pamor tibans, and at the base a semi circular pattern of pamor tiban is seen and is called pamor batu lapak, or saddle stone pamor.
The pamor wos
utah is said to enhance the owner’s material well being, while the pamor batu lapak is said to protect the owner in times of chaos.

Condition: Very good condition. Aside from slight chip off the enamel at the bottom stem cover, rest is all in very good condition.

Age:  Krises are traditionally made without any date stampings or engravings of the makers' name. Although a kris smith or "empu" has his own styles configured together with the dapor and especially the ganjar (cross piece). Obvious age wear and tear, usage, familiarity with forms, motifs and designs, origin and history, mediums and materials used are our guidelines in determining an approximate age. This particular piece, from our experience and knowledge, should go back to the late 18th century blade with late 20th century fittings.

Length of blade: 14".   Overall length: 19.4".

Price:- US$235 excluding shipping.
