here's another weekend recap:

friday night:
like i mentioned before, friday night was the speedhawaii party and carshow. although there wasn't a 350z, there were a couple civics, seth's crx, shadan's rsx, don's escort, reynold's matrix, and a nice lexus. unfortunately, i forgot my camera and couldn't take any pictures but speedhawaii should be putting some up in the near future.

congratulations seth! for winning second in the carshow.

since word got around in the group that it was jon's birthday, alcohol was being given to him left and right. jon c. bought him a tequila shot. his autos classmate, rowland, bought him a chocolate cake shot. he also had a heineken and a rum and coke after that. and then later on he and digga had another chocolate cake shot.

yeah. it was a fun night.

saturday:

keri: happy birthday!
jon: happy birthday!
keri: n~o! it's not my birthday. it's *your* birthday.
jon: oh!
keri: try again. happy birthday!
jon: thank you!
keri: you're welcome.

jon and i rushed to get ready saturday morning because we woke up at 11:30 and we had to make it down to his bank by 12:00. on the way to the bank, there was an accident at the iwalani-kawailani intersection. yeah. we didn't know how it happened. it involved a protegè and an accord. the protegè was smashed in the front and accord was smashed on the passenger side but the way they were parked when we passed by, it would've made sense if the accord was smashed on the driver's side. but anyway. we got home safely only to find out that oil from the accident had splashed on his car, so we spent the morning washing it.

we tried to go to ocean's but they were closed. for some reason jon and i always crave sushi at 2:30/3:00 when all the sushi restaurants are closed to prepare for dinner. we ended up going to hilo rice noodle soup, a new restaurant located in the old sure save building. jon ordered mi tieu chau. it's a vietnamese noodle soup with shrimp, pork, meatballs, and yellow noodles. i had sweet and sour shrimp. yum! he also ordered vietnamese coffee. vietnamese coffee is served by brewing dark-roast coffee in an individual coffee filter or drip pot that sits on top of a cup, which already has condensed milk in it. once the coffee has collected in the cup (it takes about ten minutes), you mix it with the milk. you can drink it hot or pour it over ice. it was a hot day and it was really sweet so the ice helped to water it down.

after lunch, jon took me to shipman's so i could drive some more. i did really well. i only stalled a few times. not so bad. i'm still working on downshifting into a turn.

for dinner, i took jon to miyo's. we both had our favorite, shabu shabu. afterwards, we met up with the bahoof gang at ian's. we didn't really do much just hung out around town, the rain kind of limited our options. after we got kicked out from hanging out by autos, jon and i just drove around by ourselves. we drove to goodyear but iris guys had already left. fate would have it that dustin (who was cruising around with brent) ended up behind us, so we drove to miranda's and hung out there. seth and macintyre stopped by and hung out with us until 3:30 in the morning.

sunday:
sunday seemed really short considering we woke up at 2:00 in the afternoon. we *finally* finished the all about us book that jennel gave us for christmas last year. after that, we went to ken's for a (really) late breakfast. he had his two egg specialty with bacon and i had my crab cakes and eggs.

i got to go driving at shipman's again and i did even better than on saturday. although i did ride the clutch once. i was on a slope and there was a car behind me. i got really nervous.

jon drove back to kona about 8:00. and that's was my weekend.

owari.
