FAREWELL OLD FRIEND
Farewell old friend, tis time to go
Why stand like that and stare?
Look behind, go to the light
Our other friends, are waiting there.
Is it that your worried about us?
Is that why you hate to leave?
I promise, we'll be okay old friend
Though for a time, we'll grieve

Once you were such a mighty collie
Your legs were strong and true
But now old son, though you try
They can't do what you want them too

It broke our hearts to see you
Struggling to gain your feet
Our beautiful Dino, who yester-year
Was so powerful and fleet

Well, I recall, when you were young
Before life dealt you such a blow
With Gypsy and Shanu you would race
Your merry eyes a-glow

Leading your sisters a joyful chase
Racing across the grass
A speeding bolt of gold and white
Old boy you were so fast

I remember our happy walks
A stick you'd find along the way
You'd bring it too me with such delight
I hadn't the heart to toss it away

Thanks to you and our many walks
There was plenty of kindling around
To start a blaze on a winter's night
With the "Dino" sticks you'd found

Yes, and I know about the little cat
Who safe in your mane slept curled
You'd lie so still, even when called
You wouldn't disturb it for the world

This last year, with our friend Bob
You shared your loyal heart.
But now old chum, the time has come
When good friends have to part

So, our much loved "Golden Boy"
Go with PEACE into the LIGHT...
Though we grieve, both our hearts know
What we did for YOU was right

FOR EMILY IN MEMORY OF WILL
Grandson of GypsyRose
You had a wonderful friend
For a little while
A beautiful collie
Who made you smile
Though his time was short
Have no regret
For the love you shared
You'll never forget

How joyfully he
Would follow you
Eagar to share in
Whatever you'd do
Remember the light
In his gentle eyes
Your mahogany collie
So lovely, so wise

How by your bed each
Night as you slept
A vigil of love
He silently kept
I know its hard
To understand why
So soon you were
Forced to say goodbye

But the lessons taught
By your loyal chum
Will help mold you to
The adult you will become
Though its hard to believe
One day, you WILL love again
A different love,
For no two are the same

Just know, without sorrow
You would not recognise joy
And joy was so much a part
Of your beautiful boy
The memory of Will's love
Will remain in your heart
From there Emily, I promise
It will never depart

It's natural to grieve
It's okay to cry
But the HURT will slowly ease
And then by and by
You'll remember how MUCH
This sweet dog cared
You will remember BEST
The joy that you shared

This is the legacy Will left for you
THE LOVE OF A COLLIE, LOYAL AND TRUE

Please go to "DINO"S" page to read more about what happened to this wonderful, gentle dog that despite our best efforts, resulted in his having to cross the bridge too soon. There are people who don't deserve a dog.
There are also kind people, who seeing the plight of the great dog, took the time to find out who his breeder was.
So I could bring my Golden Boy home! May GOD BLESS them.
